From an era in which I was a MAJOR fan of Italian cars.
 
It has an air to the Capri (I do not know which was first), but also its own personality is one of the most beautiful Fiat I have ever seen, I did not know of its existence.

This type of silhouette is ceasing to be "close" in time and therefore very seen in several old (more comercial) cars, to become pure appreciable beauty, now that the others due to their age are disappearing

The debut of the FIAT Dino Coupe (the series I 2000) preceded that of the Ford Capri series I by about 1 1/2 years. The FIAT Dino coupe was also a considerably larger car than the Capri. Black FIAT Dino coupes were Mafia bosses cars of choice in the original version of the film "The Italian Job".
 
I think Alfa, Fiat, Lancia and Maserati produced exceptionally good looking coupes and roadsters in the 1960s and 70s. I dont know why they lost the plot in the 80s and 90s.

More intriguing then is the fact that the Capri that is very similar to this, coming out later is the one that had the sales success, contemporary recognition and now classic popular icon status.

I calculate that this is when "invisible" factors enter, perhaps a bad marketing, distribution (although Fiat was around the world already at that time), or the lack of perception and association of the brand as a manufacturer of coupes far outside its league influenced. ?

The FIAT Dino coupe was positioned approx. two segments above the comparatively pedestrian Ford Capri. It was a bonafide GT 2+2 coupe that was positioned to compete with, for example, the BMW E9 CS/BMW-Glas 2600/3000GT and M-B W111/112 SE coupes.

I suspect that the malaise began with cars such as the FIAT 132, Lancia Beta/Trevi sedans and Alfa-Romeo ARNA. Note that I did not include the Alfasud. It was the most notorious of rust-buckets, but was an absolute blast to drive and IMHO looked great.
