FIAT / Abarth Fiat 500X (Fiat Mini SUV)

Fiat Automobiles traces its history back to 1899, when the first Fiat automobile, the Fiat 4 HP, was produced. It became a part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in 2014 and, in 2021, became a subsidiary of Stellantis. Official websites: FIAT, Abarth
500e is selling like hot cakes here in Silicon Valley. I can see them everywhere. I myself is considering one. My team was acquired by Samsung, so my easy 3 mile traffic-less commute is now 15 miles of stop and go freeway hell. It costs me $160+ a month in gas alone - not to mention wear and tear and the frustration. The lease rates for 500E is $199/month + tax. So with a 500e, for net ~$50 out of my pocket I get to use the the relatively empty car pool lanes. Other option is the electric Smart which leases for only $134, but not even name sake rear seats is a big ding. BMW totally pooched the i3 with ridiculous lease rates - $499.

How about an electric Ford Focus?

Well, it ended looking much better than expected. (and millions times better than 500L) I like how it lost the 500 and 500L cute face to become angry :D

Nice, but I would still much rather have a MINI.

Not a bad option. Great deals are bound to be on offer come December. Will you eventually have to the new Samsung office they're building near Moffett Field (Santa Clara) ?

At first I thought this car looked crap, as I don't like the 500L and thought that this expansion on the original drop dead gorgeous 500 (remake) was a bad idea but this 5dr hatch type cross vehicle looks okay. Actually the back lights have a similar look to the new 5Dr Mini! The interior looks nice, maybe Fiat intend this car to fill the gap left by open by the demise of the Fiat Bravo.

Not sure. They are building bunch of places. Have no idea if/when/where we will end up :).

All items can be purchased individually

Fiat's division in UK is now offering a plethora of Mopar accessories for the 500X baby crossover.

It was November 2014 when Mopar released a comprehensive array of accessorizes for the 500X and now the goodies have arrived in United Kingdom. On this occasion, Fiat has released additional details and images concerning these items which can be purchased individually, so there are plenty of customizations available taking into account the catalog includes more than 100 pieces.

There are a bunch of 18-inch wheels offered in different colors at £816 per set (VAT excluded, without tires) and £61 door mirror fairings in nine hues while the door molding inserts can be had in five finishes from £214. Mopar also has an extensive selection of body decals, with prices kicking off at £81 for the side ones and from £127 if you go for either a roof or hood decal. A 360-liter roof rack priced at £259 is also on offer, along with a £360 detachable tow bar as well as several Xtra Packs which combine some of the items and offer better value as it would be more expensive to buy these parts individually.

All of these Mopar accessories tailored to the 500X can be ordered through Fiat UK's dealer network.

I just don't think Fiat really have a clue about what kind of models they need to add to the 500 brand, the L & X are hideous, they shouldn't be called 500's, they should be called 600 & 700. By adding 500 styling traits they just look daft, make them there own unique models.

I have to retract this statement in part.

I saw one in Sweden a few weeks ago, they actually nailed the styping, BMW should take note when they redesign the Countryman, if it was a choice between CM and 500X, I'd have to go 500X. I also hope to see an Abarth 500X, this render looks pretty good to my eyes.

A 500X Abarth WRC project should be looked into by FIAT.

Fiat Expected To Launch 170hp Abarth 500X In 2017

Fiat is said to have given the go-ahead for a high-performance Abarth variant of the 500X crossover to be launched in 2017.
Abarth-tuned version of the Fiat 500X could be launched alongside an Abarth 124 Spider as both vehicle's use the same 1.4-liter Multiair petrol engine delivering 138 hp. It is suggested that Abarth is comfortable of extracting 170 hp from that engine and then offering it in both the 500X and 124 Spider.

As for the 500X, Autocar says that upgraded engine would be paired with either a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or instead a six-speed manual gearbox driving all four wheels. Beyond its improved engine, an Abarth 500X would inevitably receive a selection of distinct styling and aerodymamic elements including custom badging, graphics and a selection of bespoke wheel packages.

Some other likely styling modifications would include enlarged air intakes, larger brakes and a bolder rear-end possibly incorporating a wing and diffuser.

When launched, the Abarth 500X will rival the likes of the Nissan Juke Nismo RS and Mini Countryman JCW.

IMO, it's the best looking Fiat in the market right now. Seems well balanced & well crafted.
