Seem like a fair punishment. Thank god the drivers are still allowed to compete. Much better punishment then the one we initially heard.
Don't have it, but let us know what was said.
the drivers were using illigeal cars and racing around, and they get to keep their points? doesn't make sense at all.
Exactly! I have said from day one that the drivers will somehow get to keep their points. If this verdict takes away constructors' points, it implies that TOUI got an improper benefit out of Ferrari data. BTW, constructors' points are calculated by adding Hamilton's and Alonso's points together. Why on earth do they get to keep their points?
Ferrari should unleash the lawyers, but I fear that they won't.
Punishment:
- $100 million fine
- taking away all Team Championship points for 2007
- drivers unaffected - not losing anything & will be able to participate in GP 2007
- no decisions on 2008 season
Source: POP TV
But if McLaren is banned from the 2007 season, it also means that both Hamilton and Alonso's season is over. They have no car to drive for the rest of the year so, in essence their racing season is over.
Four races to go, 40 points up for grabs will overturn the approximately 20 points advantage over the Ferrari drivers.
No, no. TOUI has not been banned for 2007. Their drivers are eligible to continue contesting for the WDC. This is why the verdict is disagreeable to me.

- taking away all Team Championship points for 2007
O NO!!!!
That is not good enough, they ought to be banned for the rest of the year.
Mclaren needs to be banned for the rest of the season.
You seriously don't think this penalty is severe enough SEL?
Really thankful McLaren weren't banned for the 2008 season as well. Otherwise the punishment seems pretty fair.
Now that McLaren have no points to fight for maybe we can see closer fights between Lewis and Alonso![]()
They did not benefit from the spy becaise their car is hundred times better, they pay 100million and are banned for the season where they ridiculize Ferrari in races, and it is not enough?
