Seem like a fair punishment. Thank god the drivers are still allowed to compete. Much better punishment then the one we initially heard.

Exactly! I have said from day one that the drivers will somehow get to keep their points. If this verdict takes away constructors' points, it implies that TOUI got an improper benefit out of Ferrari data. BTW, constructors' points are calculated by adding Hamilton's and Alonso's points together. The drivers got the same benefit, so why on earth do they get to keep their points?

Ferrari should unleash the lawyers, but I fear that they won't.

They surelw won't, they already have much more than what they've ever dreamed...

The tyres pressure thing is stupid, the two cars are different, the Ferrari has no suspensions at all and big problems to put the tyres on the right temperatures, whereas the MacLaren hos much softer suspensions and then uses a much better way its tyres.

In the Ferrari, the tyres are doing the suspensions' work, so the pressure is different from the Mac where the softer suspensions have for consequences that the pressure is different and the tyres goes better on temperature.

FIA sucks. Ferrari sucks. MacLaren has done something stupid.

Fine, ok, end for 2007 season ok, drivers ok. Fair punishment.
But if they are banned for 2008 too, then it is much too much.

Really thankful McLaren weren't banned for the 2008 season as well. Otherwise the punishment seems pretty fair.
Now that McLaren have no points to fight for maybe we can see closer fights between Lewis and Alonso

No ban, no drivers' points lost. I will lose a lot of respect for Ferrari if it does not defend its drivers. Massa and Raikkonen are being shafted. I want to see a pissed off Jean Todt, Ross Brawn and Luca di Montezemolo. They have to appeal this and send in their lawyers in Italian civil and criminal court!

Toyota did the same thing 2 years ago without sanction, if I remember well...

I think it is a severe enough penalty if it was applied to the entire team, i.e. not protecting the drivers' points. My issue from the very beginning is that any penalty has to be applied equally. If the team is guilty of benefiting from a rival team's intellectual property, they lose their constructors points. However, the drivers also had the identical benefits and also scored their WDC with the same improper advantage over the other cars. It is not logical to punish the team by docking WCC and ignore the drivers. They both captured the same advantage. I have not changed my view on this from the beginning.

I doubt if they are banned from the rest of 2007 competition.
They ought to be banned for 2007 and prove that their car is in no way benefiting from the stolen design before they will be eligible to compete for the 2008 season.

Exactly. If they didn't benefit from the data then I find the punishment to be fair. No need to punish the drivers as well since they weren't in on this.

If Mclaren did benefit from the documents on a large extent then it would have been fair to perhaps even punish the drivers.
