599 [2006-2012] Ferrari takes the wraps off the new 599 GTO in advance of Beijing show debut

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano (internal code F141) is a grand tourer produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. It served as the brand's front-engined, two-seat model, replacing the 575M Maranello in 2006 as a 2007 model, and was later replaced for the 2013 model year by the F12berlinetta.
Ferrari 599 GTO (LHD), Factory XX Corse Clienti Aero Package (1 of 25 Cars). 280 km from new & £895,000.

Ordered new through Rosso Scuderia Ferrari of Tokyo in February 2011, suitably optioned in Rosso Scuderia, the chosen colour of Ferrari’s Formula 1 team for the Schumacher era and a hue that made its production debut on the F430 in 2004. The roof is finished in Grigio Silverstone Opaco as many GTOs were.

When the 599 XX was upgraded to Evo specification at the tail end of 2011, the remaining parts were offered to select clientele and members of Ferrari’s exclusive Corse Clienti program only as an upgrade for the 599 GTO through Ferrari Genuine, their post-build parts catalogue.

It’s first owner, a collector based in Tokyo, jumped at the opportunity to have the full package fitted to the car. Whilst this GTO is accompanied by its original panels, it was delivered to its first keeper in 2012 with the complete package already fitted prior to delivery. It is important to note that fewer than 25 examples of this package are understood to be fitted to 599 GTOs.

The car has been kept as part of a collection from new. It was imported to the UK in 2016 and has since been further kept as part of a collection. To date, this example has covered just 280 kilometres from new which has been corroborated by a gearbox control unit readout at DK Engineering.

I'll tell you something DK Engineering have some damn fine cars from to time!

And which is the other one? (be careful with your answer, I've my whip ready at all times)

The only thing I don't like on the 599 series is the "heavy ass" look of the rear. Somehow, I feel there is too much mass, something they hide a bit better on the F12.
But I like these two better than the 812 or the 550/575 (although the 550 GTS/575 GTC racing cars were immensely hot)

So, what's your whip?🤔

Since I could do without the whipping, I have to think about that for a bit. At the end, I wouldn't be surprised if the 599GTO might be the one that takes the top podium spot in my mind...

That said, my rank is not based solely on design, otherwise I think the F12TdF ranks higher (better proportions, better sense of occasion over the "base" model, able to get spec a more bespoke car with their Tailor-Made atelier). As an overall package, I think it's the best balanced and ought to be the most coveted modern Ferrari.

I'd love to tell, but for intimacy reasons, h_f ask me not to do.

I certainly can see where you're going; for me post 2000s has to be 458. While I love the 599, F12, Roma and even 612 Scaglietti, when it comes to front engined GT, I like the DB9/DBS and Gran Turismo better.
On the other hand, when it comes to mid engine ones, Ferrari looks much much better than Lambo and McLaren in my eyes (although that MC20 is quite the sexy thing)
