F430 Ferrari F430 replacement

The Ferrari F430 is a sports car produced by the Ferrari. Production: 2004-2009. Predecessor: Ferrari 360. Successor: Ferrari 458.
Hmm I'm not feeling the shapes I see on that mule and I pray that it's just a custom car ordered by a die hard Ferrari fan.

What a lovely sound. And I thought revving an F430 to 8000 rpm was mind-blowing, imagine 10000 rpm :eek2:.

Sounds like a Lambo.
At low rpm I'd agree that is has a bit of that deeper, more gravelly sound of the Lambo V10 but at higher rpm it still delivers the change in pitch so universally associated with high revving flat-plane crank Ferrari V8's of the last few generations.

New video of the Ferrari F450 Mule has been sent in to us from one of our spies on the frontlines. Shown in two minutes of video as it takes laps on a race track, we get to see the car driven the way a Ferrari was meant to be driven.

First, a few speculative points about the car. The rear wheel drive F450 should receive at least a 500hp 4.5 liter V8, mated to the California's double-clutch gearbox. It has been rumored that the power output will top the F430 Scuderia's 520hp, possibly by increasing the maximum rpm to 10,000, while tuning the cooling system. The bigger air intakes, seen very clearly at 1:37 into the video, could be a part of this system.

This car looks to have a bigger front end, and we get another look at the exhaust pipes that flank the center of the car's rear end. The side sills also look to be have some taped up bits, seen at about 1:19. The car definitely sounds great, and even runs the track pretty well. Towards the end of the video, we get a few slow and steady shots of the car and a sister mule as they pull out onto the open road.

Look for more spy pics and spy video of the new Prancing Horse as its debut draws nearer. The Ferrari F450 is expected to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Ferrari F450 mule spotted on track

Ferrari’s F430 replacement has been spotted doing its thing like a dirty chicken wing around Ferrari’s Fiorano race track.

It was spotted sporting a plain, dull yellow Scuderia body shell. But, you can tell this is no Scudy… Just wait till you hear the 4.5 liter V8 roar.

Ferrari always means business whenever they replace a car. Especially their best selling mid-engine V8 models. The 355 to 360 Modena to the now elder F430. There is no doubt that Ferrari gets better with age and more F1 victories under its belt. But, this could possibly be the best Ferrari they’ve built in recent times. That is, just by the sound of that engine!

Another thing to note, listen to how fast the gear changes are. That’s F1 speeds right there. Let’s just hope we can at least order a manual with this one still. My sources inside Ferrari told me over a year ago but, most people know by now, that Ferrari will not be offering a manual transmission on its cars anymore after 2010. You will have to special order your Ferrari with that type of old-school transmission. Who wants that old untechnological crap in a new technological car? Yes, I’m being sarcastic. Damn, it’s already hard enough to find a manual transmission Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Who wants to start betting on how fast the new F450 will hit 60 mph/100 kmh?

While you’re listening to the video, or watching it, check out our previous coverage of the F450 mules running around town. Word on the street is that the Ferrari will debut the successor to the F430 at the Frankfurt Auto Show this year.

Thanks Luw...

Hmph. No apparent sign of turbocharging hey? Anyone else see something I don't?

Interesting pic. The position of the fuel injectors clearly show this will be a D.I engine. The one thing that interest me is the way the engineers connect both sides of the intake manifold with 3 horizontal pipes, (as far as I can tell from that 1st pic anyway). It could be some resonance tuning design for the incoming air, which is similar to what Porsche uses for their flat 6 engines.

Can someone please explain:

1) Is the F450 new like the 7er F01 is new from the E65 7er?
2) Or is the F450 new like the Golf VI is new from the Golf V?

I surely hope it's the first option....:eusa_pray
