F40 [1987-1992] Ferrari F40 (1987 ~ 1992)

The Ferrari F40 (Type F120) is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car engineered by Nicola Materazzi with styling by Pininfarina. It was built from 1987 until 1992, with the LM and GTE race car versions continuing production until 1994 and 1996 respectively. As the successor to the 288 GTO (also engineered by Materazzi), it was designed to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary and was the last Ferrari automobile personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. At the time it was Ferrari's fastest, most powerful, and most expensive car for sale.

I remember reading this a month ago. Color me intrigued by this heart transplant.
Stuff that! What a travesty. These ultimate models shouldn’t be ravaged like this.

Edit: ok I watched the video. This particular car was never an original F40. They managed to source the crash test mule and modded it from there. So debatable as to whether there’s anything F40 about this car other than its looks.

The only thing worse than this bastardisation masquerading as an F40 is the accent of that Saffer oke narrating the video. Yassus, china!

This is a tragedy, why dont they just make it back to original instead of a unique copy creation. Sure a V12 engine is nice, but this is then not a F40.

Certainly, an interesting journey up ahead for this firm to build that car, but it will cost an arm and leg to finish.

I had that edition of Fast Lane, I sold all my car mags before I moved to Norway. My pic back than was always the Lister XJ, it was such a mad crazy car. Today I'd buy the 959 and send it Canepa for the upgrades.

There are cars that should not be treated like this... the F40 is one of those.

It's not an F40, its a cobbled together set of mismatching body panels built on a chassis hes designing on the fly.
It doesn't make any sense in terms of resale value, but arguably the NA engine is probably better suited to the car.

It's not an F40, its a replica using some F40 parts and a Ferrari v12, it will never have the same resale value as an actual F40.

I'm waiting for the episode when he receives a letter from Ferrari's lawyers telling him he can't call it a Ferrari.
