i have tremendous respect for the Koenigsegg. First of all look what they achieved very high end speed comparable to the bugatti but bugatti had all of VAG for help with it while Koenisegg did not. Second they built there own engine i believe not, taking a high performance mercedes engine and tuned it, wich takes gut to wich proves they wanted to build the best car they could. They tried really hard to make a amazing car and sure it may have some drawbacks like you may need a rear wing if your going to track the car or something. Plus the car looks amazing better than the Pagini imo just look at those doors. If i was to buy a supercar this would be it, i love the car.

No, they did not build their own engine.
They started out with a V12 back in 1999 (or so) but then switched to a Ford engine and modified it to suit their needs. They do not longer get their engine blocks from Ford but a Brittish company builds them. So in that sense it's not exactly a Ford engine but it's still based on it and they did not develope it themselves.

Horacio Pagani wanted to name the Zonda "Fangio F1" but to do that Fangio required it to have a Mercedes engine. So there were never any real plans of developing one themselves.

So it's pretty much the same deal concerning engines for both companies only that Pagani admit it's not their engine.

I've got no problem with what you say, except for the above. It's not exactly their engine though, the orignal engine did come from Ford Racing. Although in Koenigsegg's defense, Christan Von Koenigsegg did say the engine was using a total of 80% new parts.

To breach on the Pagani comment, the M120 AMG V12 was not used because they could take advantage of it, it was used because that's Juan Manuel Fangio wanted it and his dream has come true.

nothing to add really more than kudos to koenigsegg to be able to do what they do in todays industry wich is run by large car companys..
But imho pagani sits in the same boat and they have done it way better..

In all honesty, i think Koenigsegg should slap a Ford badge on the engine, it is after all, as you said and i have said is a Ford engine. Pagani proudly displays the Zonda's engine is from Mercedes.

Wrong, the engine in CCX is not ford engine anymore, in fact its Koenigseggs own engine. We visited the factory and got roundtour and we talked about the engine. My info comes directly from the source

lol so whats the info??
did they make a new engine?
cause otherwise whatever they say its atleast based off a Ford V8

Did you read my post Just me?

It's not a Ford engine. A manufacturer is England forges the blocks that are still based on Ford blocks. Since it's not Ford who makes them anymore they are indeed different but made to complie more with the upgrades they had given the old engine. In the end it's still based on a Ford block but heavily modifed. They did not develop the engine from scratch which I think you have to do to call an engine your own.

My 2 cents.

CCR is a Ford engine, not CCX. The engine is strongly modified and not a Ford engine anymore. They are buying parts from suppliers but change a lot so now their build their own engine.

I will still under the impression the CCX engine was the CCR engine, they do after all have the identical specification, so you can't blame me for thinking they are the same engine. However i still have a feeling the engines are the same 4.7 litre Ford block, regardless of CVK says.:t-hands:

Yes, they are obviously different due to emissions, but i still say they are both orignally Ford blocks.

I haven't visted the factory so you obviously have a more information on the engine than i do and i won't argue with that.

Everyone visited the factory had to write on papers to not tell anything we seen or heard. Some secrets cant obviosly leave the factory.

But the koengisegg is going to have a big part in the next movie Redline 2. :usa7uh:

Still the info you got is wrong..the engine is based off a ford..so in my book its not their own engine..
me bery bery sowie:D

PS
Just for the record i dont trust that half arse company..
for 2 reasons..
No1 their explantion when the cars fail
No2 their lies about weight, and now engine..

like I said, I wish you were there in the factory, it would make you give more knowledge about Koengisegg and Im sure you would respect the carmaker better after thge visit. Koengisegg obvisously know stuff that people on the net dont know.

BTW you can alwyas send a email to Koeingsegg, its nice people working there so perhaps they will answer you :usa7uh:

Anyway, this is a ferrari thread and not Koenfisegg or zonda thread. On-topic my friends :t-cheers:

Koenigsegg does know a lot about making a vehicle but that doesn't make me or The Artist stupid. Every thing i've ever said about Koenigsegg on any forum has been justified and i will continue to dislike the car on the factors of technical knowledge i have.

Maybe i will send Koenigsegg a response on that 120kg of extra weight on the CCR. I would assume they would respond to my email, i mean why wouldn't they, Pagani Automobili has never failed to answer any of my various questions to the factory.

Anyways, :t-cheers:

A guy at FCF E-Mailed the company while FCF still existed and got a reply from Christian himself listing everything that was replaced in the engine and pretty much everything done to it. But still said it was based on a Ford engine but still very different from the original.
