Ferrari 296 Challenge Stradale / Mugello

I’ve owned a 458, 458 Speciale, Aventador and Aventador S. The 296 is the best Ferrari I’ve ever driven, by far. The Revuelto is the best Lambo I’ve ever driven by a larger margin.

Cars should be judged on how they really are. Hating on a car for being a hybrid irrespective of its objective qualities is as dumb as hating on a person for their immutable traits despite their objective qualities.

Was the Aventador really a handful to drive on the track?

Little question, What is the difference in driving between the Aventador and Aventador S? I'm curious to hear your opinion.

The reviews do a decent job explaining the differences. A few points of note you wouldn’t get in a review: the sound of an Aventador especially inside is synthetic especially in the “S” as they made the exhaust have far too many pops, unnaturally. Every time you lift off, pop pop pop. I really didn’t like that. The transmission sucks but it’s just a character trait. Not a deal breaker. The car never feels anything but huge. Whatever differences reviewers claim make the S feel much different are less apparent than they make them, but real. So watch a review and just take what they say down 50%.

I’ll also add, the Huracan drove so much better than the Aventador. But really, the Revuelto drives even better than the Huracan. It has all the drama and presence of the Aventador, with better build quality and materials, and despite the weight being high, dances like a Huracan. Not to even mention the acceleration is wild. Even at $600-650k USD used, which is a lot, I think it’s worth it. I’m souring on these insane car prices, but part of me really does think the Revuelto is a bargain hyper car.

I don’t like some styling elements of the Tem, whereas I love all of the Rev, but used at ~$350k it could be very compelling.

It’s funny how different Lambo and Ferrari are right now. My 296 is so retro meets modern with its curves and smooth lines while the Tem and Rev are all angles and aggression.
