Rumors :

- New version of the twin-turbo V6 boosted to 700hp
- No hybridisation

This was hinted by the test drives of the Speciele. Bummer that the special name is wasted but good that there might be a hardcore non-hybrid car.
 
I was wondering why they were testing all these 296 Challenge cars on public roads.
Should be seriously quick, even without the hybrid.

The car will be street legal and will be offered to the brand's most loyal customers at an event in July. It will have a V6 engine boosted to 700hp, lots of carbon fibre and will be presented with the name Challenge Stradale or Mugello. Here's what the rumour says, and according to some "well-informed" sources, it's true.
 
Having a giant wing on a road car that occasionally sees track use is, to borrow an analogy from Jeremy Clarkson, like keen angler wearing waiters to work everyday to signal to everyone he likes to fish. There is already a track only 296. I do not see the point in this at all except for a cash grab from people who have too much of it.

Speciale is far from special, particularly compared to this wild beast.
Having a V6 rather than a V8 is still a damn shame and major error on their part.
No hybrid is just fantastic though.

There is already a track only 296. I do not see the point in this at all except for a cash grab from people who have too much of it.

No and clearly not because I don't want to.

But my red line would be everything beyond an electric turbo. I'd have an older non hybrid any day every day over these heavy over engineered freaks where they try to solve non existing problems and make things worse in the process.
 
Do we know where this ICE-only rumor originated? Because if it's the lack of high voltage warning labels, that alone hardly constitutes definitive proof, considering there have been occasions of (now confirmed) Ferrari hybrid prototypes driving without those /↯\ stickers.

And would Ferrari go to the trouble of re-certifying and emission testing a new engine for couple hundred cars just to have the straight line performance regress back to 488 Pista level?
The combination of low weight and high downforce in a Ferrari does present something new and enticing, but whether customers can fairly discern the strengths of such a car, beyond the usual "rare model = good investment" rationale, is questionable. Not to mention this move undermines Ferrari's own product strategy.

There's a reason why no matter how many times you see sentiments along the lines of: "I wonder what a 918/NSX/296/Revuelto would be like without the hybrid", this scenario has never happened.

I can't reveal where this information comes from at first, but the rumor has been around for a few months now and comes from several well-informed sources.

There will be a 296 model without hybridization, which will be released this year (probably in July). This model will be very limited and only available to customers who are invited to purchase it.
 
It comes from random Fchat posts haha let’s not pretend there’s any more insider info than that. It’s been discussed there for months.
Im not "pretend" of anything... I share what i found and heard about it.
I din't heard it from Ferrarichat at first but i get what you said, the rumors was getting more truth by a well know menbers from Ferrarichat yes.

There will be when Tavarish is done with his P1 in nine and a half years.
And I never heard that when the BMW i8 was in production LMAO
