Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 19 police were called to 107 Street just north of 102 Avenue. Officers arrived to find a BMW M5 had collided with a tree on the west side of 107 Street. Three males had been in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The driver and rear passenger were taken to hospital, but the front passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and died at the scene. The EPS Traffic Section is investigating, and believe that both speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
