F-Type F-Type ClubSport in the works.

The Jaguar F-Type (X152) is a series of two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured by British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover under their Jaguar Cars marque from 2013 to 2024. The car's JLR D6a platform is based on a shortened version of the XK's platform. It is the so-called "spiritual successor" to the E-Type.
^^ A 100 kg drop is still pretty significant.

Agreed but of the two figures 100kg vs 200kg I would find it more believable that Jaguar could drop the Club Sport by 100kg, even that figure would have a profound effect on the car I imagine.

P.S. In Autocar they state that BMW will drop 100kg off the next 5 series and that will be a car which won't lose any of it's current luxury items so with that in mind I reckon 100kg is achievable if they intend to lose a lot of those items which many see as surplus to requirements in a hardcore trackday based car.

I see, so you are saying that if a brand new vehicle which is engineered from the ground up, can achieve a 100kg weight reduction compare to the previous generation, then it is possible for engineers to achieve a 100 kg reduction from a vehicle which is currently in production. A better example will be the 90kg weight reduction between the standard 458 and the Speciale.

I honestly don't know if the next 5 will use a completely new platform or will it be the similar to the X5 but my point it won't drop this weight by dumping any of its current luxuries, if anything these items might increase in standard spec. As for the Jag I reckon 100kg sounds a lot more achievable then 200kg especially if it loses a lot of the current cars's luxuries as well as using lighter panels, glass, etc.

200kg? when is the last time any car lost 200kg?

Mclaren dropped 104KG from the MP4-12c to the 650S, this can be reduced by a further 15KG if you specify the carbon seats. The MP4 weights 1434kg, the 650s with carbon seats weights 1315kg, I suspect Jag could easily knock 150kg from the F-type, 200kg if they go nuts, it's a heavy car so there must be a lot of easy loses IMO.

SGL says cheaper carbon fiber will offer automakers alternative to steel, aluminum

FRANKFURT (Reuters) -- Carbon fiber reinforced parts for cars could become more than 70 percent cheaper over the next few years, making them an alternative to standard materials such as steel and aluminum, an executive at carbon specialist SGL told German weekly VDI-Nachrichten.

"Today the average costs of light-weight carbon fiber parts is 100 euros ($140) per kg, of which 20 euros is for materials and 80 euros for manufacturing," Hubert Jaeger, SGL's technology and innovation chief, told VDI.

SGL makes carbon fiber reinforced parts for BMW's i subbrand. The automaker introduced the i3 electric car in November and will roll out the i8 plug-in hybrid supercar later this year. Both models feature a carbon-fiber chassis to reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency.
