New Porsche 911 Carrera S and latest Nissan GT-R do battle around Bedford’s West Circuit. TV's Tiff Needell finds out which is faster - and which is the most fun - in his first evo track battle. What's your money on?

Yip, pretty much my reasoning too.

And that flat-six sounds fantastic. Tiff is a great addition to the EVO team - loved his heel-n-toe downshifts - and I hope he stays on for some time.

I'm sure the new turbo will get much close to the GTR time if not even beat it but you'll be shelling out almost 50% more.

The only cars i'd take over the 2012 GT-R are the SLS,F458 and SL 63/65.

Carrera S sounds simply fantastic. What an exciting car. Those heel-toe downshifts by Tiff Needel are perfectly timed.

Tough choice, with the previous generation of 911, I would have definitely picked the GTR over anything under the GT3. With the 991 it is tough choice, but I give the 911 the edge cause of that glorious engine note. But the GTR can definitely dish it out sideways despite being AWD unlike the front engined Audis.

GT-R continues to impress! Does about everything right & surely is among the best in the world & among the very best to come from Japan ever.

991 here is like marrying a girl who is terrible in bed, sucks on cooking & can't do dishes or laundry. She was chosen just because she's a hot blonde!

I just love Tiff! I loved his testdrives since he tested the RS4 B5 in 2000. SO much better then the wuss Clarkson!

Anyways, GT-R would be my pick.

I couldn't really make up my mind between the 991 C2S and 2012 GTR until you put it like that... you can have the ugly, overweight one... I will have the hot blonde and hire a cleaner, eat in restaurants and teach her what to do in bed

The thing I like about Tiff is he is really the only one that can powerslide just about anything for the cameras but when he gets serious notice how the showboating stops and how neat and controlled the tail becomes.

Saw my first white 991 S yesterday and I sort of fell in love. It is such a beautiful car... I'd like the manual, but not if it isn't as good as the old 6-speed.

Goodness, was just marveling at Tiff's driving when I saw this video a couple of weeks back.

It's a real toss-up between the two, having driven neither. But I think the 991 is a better car to keep for the long-term. Consumable costs on a GTR make it cripplingly expensive after a while!
