The Porsche 997 is the sixth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car manufactured and sold by Porsche. Production: July 2004–2013. It was succeeded by the Porsche 911 (991).

If you haven’t had chance to grab a copy of the latest EVO magazine, but were wondering what its cars of the year was, wonder no more. The guys have gone for Porsche’s sublime 997 GT3 RS. Second was the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, with the third place spot being taken by Audi’s beautiful R8.
The RS is 20kg lighter than the standard GT3 model, with the help of a carbon fibre rear wing, plastic boot lid and rear window. Further weight is shaved from the car by the way of lightweight carbon composite bucket seats. Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 3.6L engine providing an lovely 415bhp.
