EVO: BMW M5 v Panamera S v E63 AMG v Jaguar XFR

What's really interesting to me is how AMG seemed so hell bent on outdoing BMW in sporty steering feel, that they succeeded, while BMW didn't put as much emphasis on steering feel, but ended up instead figuring out a way to make their M5 not only monstrous, but also luxurious, rendering it more comfortable apparently than the M-B. This is significant for three reasons: 1- A BMW is more comfortable than its M-B counterpart, 2- An M-B is has sportier steering feel than its BMW counterpart, and 3- The base versions of these cars go the opposite way (E-Class slightly more comfortable, 5 slightly sportier steering feel), showing just how much focus AMG and M put into their balancing acts.... In fact doing more than just balancing, but going above and beyond in those areas.

I was one of those who thought the new M5 wouldn't be quicker around the track or faster in acceleration than E63 PP. I stand corrected, I guess.

Sure thing, but look how AMG has progressed in the handling and speed departments as a total package
compared to the outgoing W211 E AMG model. The W211 E55 (63) was nothing but an E500 with a different engine. AMG has their hands cut loose and it`s showing in the performance handling departments.


It`s a shame we Americans can`t exploit the athletic limites of these cars. You would have your license taken away and some States are considering it a Fellony.
With that said you can`t go wrong with either of these cars.

IMO the Jag is the best looking here. The E63 looks awful from that angle. The M5 looks much better with the other wheel-type.
...and I still love the whale-shaped Panamera

Yea, I agree about the Jag being best looking. The best part is it has the silhouette of a coupe but with out compromising interior space like the the other 4 door coupes.

No doubt the Jag is one hot looking car, although the interior isnt great as I noticed when I was inside the car. But still I pick BMW M5.

I'd have to say the opposite. The Panamera looks stunning to me there, aside from that rear end creeping up and ruining it.

I think that's a bad angle and bad lighting on all the cars. The M5 looks dull, the E63 looks sans all dynamic qualities, and the Panamera's bloated a$$ just hurts its overall impression. The only car that looks at its best is the XF, and it actually does look best in this pic..... However, in real life I think the other 3 designs are better.

Give the E63 a dark color and u got easily the best looking performance sedan in that pic IMO.
