Also, the suspension should be fine if the car is driven regularly. The British Mercedes magazine Mercedes Enthusiast had a number of 450SEL 6.9 owners from around the world write them and they all explained that the suspension is generally reliable but degrades if the car is not used regularly. Once the suspension is in a bad condition, fixing it is bad news. Expensive as hell.
I wish I could scan the quotes but I lent those magazines to an MB salesman. Remind me to pick them up sometime.![]()
