Event of the year - Sport Auto 0-300-0 km/h

Scans will come on next Tuesday or Wednesday. I hope I'll be able to scan AutoBild Sportscars articles as well (Panamera Turbo vs. S63 AMG for example).

Autozeitung has a battle between Panamera Turbo and new Alpina B7 :)

Fantastic times. And definitely faster than GTR or R8 V10. Wonder how the SLS will stack up.

:t-cheers:
These are the best times I have seen for the GT-R and R8 V10:

  • R8 V10: 3,7 s and 12,1 s (AutoZeitung)
  • GT-R: 3,8 s and 12,5 s - without LC (AutoZeitung)
So it's clear, who's the fastest... :D

btw.: SLS will do it in 3,8 s and 11,0 s IMO.

Thanks emve. :usa7uh:
Edit: should I post the scans on wednesday in .jpeg format and good quality? Any need? :)

I wish they had a Nissan GTR in there to see how the mk2 Porsches stack now.

In a straight line, I doubt the Turbo will have any trouble. The mk1 was itself as fast, if not slightly faster. It is around a track, that the old one bit the dust.

I know that. But the reason I'm saying to bring in the 2010 model against the mk2 is because the 2010 version has been modified by Nissan over the 2009. So, it would be dumb to bring in the "old" GT-R versus the "new" Turbo. :t-cheers:

Also, the LC is gone from 2010 GT-R. LOL

Magazines will never keep up with the updates of the GTR :D

I thaught the LC was never really there but that it is there now. Officially there, that is.

Sunny, the 2011 isn't in the same MY as the mk2 997 Turbo.

That's why I love Nissan/Nismo and other japanese car makers (Mazda, Honda, Toyota) for the fact that they keep on tinkering with their "sports" cars. There were millions of versions of the BNR-34GTR and FD-RX7 and the Honda NSX.

BTW, the LC was there in 2009 Model but was using it was considered "Breach of warranty". Which was stupid because they didn't really tell you that. They told you how to use the LC in the owner's manual I think, yet it was your loss if your gearbox went due to LC usage. So, for 2010 they have completely taken it out. :usa7uh:

No, the LC is there officially now, but it is a bit mellow but still as effective version of the old unofficial version. It launches at around 3k rpm now vs old 4k, but most importantly doesn't cost you your warranty cause you don't have to disable VDC like the old one to use it. The old wasn't there on the owner's manual, but they still let the press know about it and use it. But when the consumers started using and eventually blowing up the transmissions, they started voiding the warranty - which was lame.

Thanks for the correction. I was told the "original" LC is gone from the 2010 model. And from what you tell me, launching at 3K with VDC still on, my source is right. It's a gimped launch control, so not the "original" one.

Yup, the original unofficial LC is out. The new one though is far from gimped and it can still do 3.5 sec 0-60 runs. Here is a video that explains it all.
