Electromagnetic Active Suspension System - Reality?

Human

You. The Road. Nothing else.
@SCOTT27 Are there any interest from the BMW Group to use this active suspension system? It has Efficient Dynamics add-on capabilities.

Active suspension in cars is more comfortable and provides a better roadability. The system can prevent a car from toppling over during swerving, or make for shock-free ambulance transport. Bart Gysen, PhD student at the Electromechanics and Power Electronics group, will be cruising campus in a blue BMW to test his electric shock absorber springs.

Interesting. Also, not that SKF is a leading firm in the construction of high quality ball bearings, half shafts and other mechanical components. But I am pretty sure I have read about this suspension idea/concept somewhere, before!

LOL, Thank you!!! I to;d my wife whilst posting this Thread that you would most probably reply that we may expect some kind of new tech on the next 7 series.:)(y)

I know there is lots of new tech in many areas being tested. This technology however looks promising for BMW in that and IMO thus far BMW EFFICIENT DYNAMICS is leading, working technology even DAIMLER and MERCEDES-BENZ envy.;)

Current economic woes and reality aside, reading and listening I am confident in the BMW Group's portfolio. And for the first time since my love for cars began as a child, the W222 S-class is of lesser interest for me. I have an open mind and positive feeling about BMW's sustainability, technology and practical thinking.

In other words: As a relatively small company that packs a HUGE punch and at that being factually the world's No.1 Luxury Brand for several plus years now, I am proud to walk into the future with and continue driving BMW:cool:

I just got that 'uhmf' back at being a BMW enthusiast this past weekend. having visited the local M-B dealer, VW dealer and BMW dealer yesterday - no contest! BMW's my brand!;)
