Happy Eid!

Fasting isn't that difficult, on a few outdoor survival camps when I was a teenager at school we were forced to go 24 hours without food. But life without bacon is a life not worth living, just sayin You have my admiration and respect for living without it, I know I couldn't!

It's a valid question if you my next comment, Muslim and Jewish dietary rules made sense a long time ago but today they don't, with food safety regulations and refrigeration being standard in most of the world, so why wouldn't the dietary laws change to reflect these changes? A lot of religions have changed to keep up with the times, gay people can get married, there are female clergy so why shouldn't someone be able to eat a perfectly safe and tasty bacon sandwich?

I'm always been interested in religion and why people believe what they believe. I'm a godless heathen myself, I don't believe in anything.

Me too, but that has nothing to do with this. I have many, many Muslim friends. Probably as much as Christians, maybe more.

Not high at all, plenty of Muslims eat pork, they just keep quiet about it, I've been into a shop in Dubai where you can buy pork products. The Iranian in my office eats pork, he's a believer but he likes pork and doesn't think god really cares what he eats.

I also don't think it's caused any offence to the Muslim forum members as it wasn't intended to offend, the only person offended is you.

I personally find the posting of a pork sandwich in a thread about Ramadan not offensive, just childish. I really don't understand @KiwiRob's motivation. There's far more appetizing things that could have been posted.

As for the question about Pork, yes some Muslims do eat it in the same that some Muslims believe the consumption of Alcohol is permissible. Everyone has the right to choice. But why the majority of Muslims and Jews still don't eat it? www.google.com

Same with goat meat smells like death.

We agree, but I do like goat, it's a lot like lamb but with a more gamey flavour.

What I won't eat is whale, tried it about 10 years ago, hated it, I used to have a moral objection to whale but as they say when in Rome/Norway had to try, now I know it's vile so I don't even need a moral objection anymore.

There’s a saying everything tastes better with bacon.

From my experience, as you said the majority of Muslims don’t eat pork products but the consumption of alcohol is a whole different story.

The Iranian I work with eats bacon and drinks alcohol, but he won’t do either anywhere near his mum, he’s more afraid of her than god or his Iman.

If you wanna start a 'Best Meats for the best Eats' thread, I'm already more than curious to see peoples opinions... but I know you are not that stupid to think this thread is the best place for it... just one that you think will get you an easy reaction...

FWIW, I have no dietary restrictions or religious beliefs, I just believe in showing a certain amount of respect on forums.
