Earth is moving

Whether you think they are increasing in frequency or not, there has been several very large earthquakes this year. (I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think there is a slight increase in number, but mainly just a shift to higher populated areas then normal).
Yesterday I was sitting watching TV when I thought I felt something, not very much just slightly more than a hard heart beat causing my body to shake. After trying to get it to stop unsuccessfully I looked up to see all the hanging items in the house swinging, so I checked USGS to find 7.2 in Mexico was what I felt.
Anyone else feel the quake? On another forum most of the people that felt it enough to write about it were from outside So Cal.
Anyone think there is something to 2012 and we are all going do die?

It was the first quake in years I actually felt Do kind of miss them, just a little. Need to bolt a few things to the wall soon just in case.

Here in Greece many earthquakes happen everyday. The scarest momment in my life was when I was driving on the Rio Antirrio bridge and a 5.5 Richter earthquake started. The deck of the bridge was shaking!

if its really the case that the poles are going to move(thats what this 2012 theory is all about), then i don't think that we need to worry - cause it wouldn't be possible to change it anyway

It is possible for the poles to rapidly shift from their places, it has happened in the past

People who believe in this 2012 theory are silly, though And that movie 2012 was horrible.

Actually science has shown - proven - that the rapid polar shift can only be consider rapid in context to the life of the planet i.e. it took at least 1000 years for the poles to shift. This was shown by rock samples in the Northern Territory of Australia.

I knew they weren't that rare but was still surprised by the actual number:

And I've been to Japan many times but I've never experienced (at least not a sensible) one:

No not worried, the ground is very stable, we can't really feel anything under 4.5. I just felt a small shaking from the 7.2 only 250ish miles away, but in the east coast of the US they would feel more shaking 500 miles away.

You are missing out, they can be very fun.
The big one is always coming... California has been waiting for it for longer than I can remember. In Washington they were watching Mt. Rainier waiting for it to blow, what happened? Mt. St. Helens blew instead.

The first one I felt was the worst, it was also the biggest 7.6 or so. After that we started getting tons and after each large quake I would sleep on the floor so I could feel them better
I was in an older building for a youth group meeting when we had a 5.8 and we all ran outside because we were not sure what would happen to the building.

This year sofar we have had 7.1 Solomon Islands, 7.0 Haiti, 7.0 Japan , 8.8+ after shocks Chile, Mexico 7.2 and just now in Sumatra a 7.8

Happens all the time in Alaska.
Had my first experience in 2000 when I went for a conference.
Experienced it about twice a day when I went to visit my sister in Alaska last year.

Yes, but in Santiago, where I was at that time, "only" reached to 8.0

We know that pole reversal is a common occurrence in the history of earth. It variess from 100-250k years.
It is also true that when it occurs we will lose the magnetosphere which shields us from the dangerous gamma radiation from the sun.

Alaska, California and Nevada are the top three US states for earthquakes. Though most quakes are 3 or below so no one feels them.
