1 Series E87 116i not smooth at low revs

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
Hello I just got a used 116i Sport manufactured at 2006 (n45b16) and is petrol engine with manual transmition. It is a very nice car and I like it in many ways but I have a major problem. Is that when I am driving through the city at low speeds the car sometimes seem to disagree from what I press on the gas pedal. That means when I press some gas to regulate the car speed and keep me on going forward the engine "Stall" for a moment. This is happening many times a day during driving. I said to the mechanic to change sparks and coils but this didn't fix the problem. Any help is welcome.

First thing I'd look at is all the air intake pipes starting at the intake manifold end, check for fitment, splits and cracks. If the engine is sucking in unmetered air it can have this effect.

I pretty much checked the air going to intake because I am suspecting their is not enough air for the engine "when driving slow" with all that plastic vents and cases trying to manage the air. I have now opened the box housing of the air filter and I will check tomorrow if it breaths better. Now its like a cold air filter. Thank you.

Anyway if anybody reads this I did not see improvement from the open air filter so I closed it as from factory. Although then I rev the engine at full rpm a few times at neutral gear to get mass air travel through exhaust system. This way maybe gets it clean. I am not yet sure but seems I got some improvement on my problem. I need to test it more. Thank you for any answer.

I'd say you need a new MAF sensor. If I am not mistaken, it's a pretty common issue with those engines.

I will try getting to MAP & MAF sensors tomorrow but I only have air pressure spray for cleaning. What else should I use? thanks

It seems I do not have MAP sensor. I will try cleaning MAF when I get WD40 ContactCleaner. Thus today I switched from 98 down to 95 octane RON and for some reason it is running much better. I will test this again when the engine gets cold.
