As Jeremy pointed out last season, there's one surefire way to ruin a gorgeous car - call it the Growler.

Which could explain why Classic Factory, the Swiss company responsible for said preposterous epithet, has renamed their stunning tribute to Jaguar's E-Type. Sort of...

Think of this little monkey as Son of Growler (stop tittering). It's being built on the back of the success of this design study and now resides under the more comfortable moniker of "K". It'll be manufactured by a company founded just for its inception - the very British Lyonheart Cars Ltd.

Robert Palm, CEO of Classic Factory, says: "We want to make the 'Made In England' label into a truthful concept, not just a statement. Every part of the Lyonheart K is developed, engineered and hand-built in Coventry, England."

So, what'll it be getting under the bonnet? A rorty six-pot like the original E? Nope - a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 (presumably from the XKR), carbon fibre panels, an aluminium chassis and sub-1600kg mass.
Sounds fruity. But it should be - it'll cost you £415,000. FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN GRAND. Zoinks.

:t-cheers:

The aluminium trim clashes with the beige, the rims are a nightmare to clean and £415k? Thank you, but no thank you.

Lyonheart K British Sports Car Goes On Sale

We’re glad to report that the deliciously retro Lyonheart K sports car we first told you about in February of last year hasn’t turned out to be vaporware.

The people at Lyonheart, a startup based in Coventry, England, have continued to develop their new sports car, whose lines were penned by designers at Vizualtech and Classic Factory and have clearly been inspired by the Jaguar E-Type.

While only 50 examples were originally planned, at a price of almost half a million euros a piece, strong demand has seen Lyonheart revise this figure to 250 units, which meant prices could also be revised downwards thanks to greater economies of scale.

At the same time, strong demand has also seen Lyonheart announce a new convertible version of its new K sports car.

Pricing is now set at 360,000 euros (approximately $464,000) for the coupe, and 375,000 euros ($483,500) for the convertible.

That’s quite the deal considering the car’s bespoke nature, aluminum and carbon fiber construction, and supercar-like performance. It also doesn’t heart that the Lyonheart K is one of the most gorgeous cars currently in production.

The car is built around a lightweight aluminum chassis with double wishbone front suspension, a multi-link setup in the rear, and electronic dampers at all four corners. The curb weight comes in at less than 3,500 pounds, though this can vary depending on specification.

Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 built by Cosworth and tuned to deliver 567 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Matched to this engine is a six-speed automatic from ZF, and drive is sent to the rear wheels only. A limited-slip differential is also fitted.

Lyonheart promises 0-62 mph acceleration in under 4.0 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 186 mph.

Standard goodies include 20-inch wheels, aluminum panels (carbon fiber is optional), bi-xenon headlamps, parking sensors, leather and wool trim, wood veneers on the dash, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a 7-inch touch-screen interface with satellite navigation. Of course, Lyonheart also has its own personalization program that can pretty much add anything your heart may desire.

Convertible models get an electrically operated roof, which can be raised or lowered in just 12 seconds and operated at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Unfortunately, the Lyonheart K isn’t available for sale in the U.S. just yet. Also, anyone putting in an order will have to wait approximately 18 months before taking delivery.

And with a proper Cosworth engine? I would buy that even if they made a remake of the Fiat Multipla!

:D

Seriously, it's amazing. I wish I had 400.000€ in my bank account so that I could get one of that and a 4er.

It takes a lion's heart to do what Lyonheart is doing!
I'm in love with this car since the first time I saw it... and a Cosworth engine is more than worth the money

Bing it on, put it into production! I will sell the house to get my hands on one of these. My goodness is fabulous!
