M5 "Driving" The new BMW M5 on the "Wooden Hell"

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M

Only Norev makes the 1/18 F10. Norev is a mid range model maker, the details of the models in general are not quite up to the standard of Kyosho or Autoart but they do cost around 30% less.

I was hoping for Autoart or Kyosho, the rest of the mainstream model makers are not quite up to the standard of those two.

Kyosho used to have the licence to make all the BMW models, but recently BMW have switched to Norev to make the new Minis, the F10 sedan, wagon GT, and the new X3. Mercedes is heading towards this direction as well. Having said that Norev is excellent value for money, the details are above average and the pricing of them should attract some casual purchases from a wide range of customers.

Well then I don't want. I want a scale model with the highest attention to detail. I have a 645Ci which is quite nice, no clue who made it though.

So Kyosho or Autoart you say? They have the M5 too?

Your 645Ci is most likely made by Kyosho. Kyosho made the E60 M5, don't think they will make the F10 M5. Autoart rarely makes any new BMW models, and I don't think they will make the new M5 model either.

Norev isn't that bad, have a look at this link 1/18 Norev BMW F10 New 5 Series 550i 550 Gray Grey | eBay

The BMW M5 will be produced by Paragon for BMW - The manufacturer who will also manufacture the 1er , 6er Coupe . BMW 1er M Coupe in both scales which I have in my office - Is a very nice model.
The BMW 5er Gran Turismo and , The X3 is by Absolute Hot! and is available now. BMW no longer list the respective manufacturers as they are listed exclusively BMW but are manufactured by a conglomerate of companies under Jadi models.

The issue with diecast companies at the moment is due to time constraints and costs affecting the work force and resources. Rising costs mean that collectors are abandoning the hobby as models are rising in price.

The manufacturers that are producing latest models for BMW are relatively unknown because they are undercutting the price for models from actual mainstream well-known manufacturers.
Kyosho were affected by the recent Tsunami in Japan and are only getting back on track as Kyosho have manufactured Rolls-Royce Ghost and additional BMW 1:18 models for BMW Group.

BMW also use Dickie-Schuco who manufacturer the 1:43 F10.F11 , X1,X3,X6 and 5er Gran Turismo. And will be replicating miniatures of the M5 and MINI Coupe.
Dickie-Schuco are becoming the leading producer for 1:43 "industrie Promo's" Which is what we term the miniatures. They have done the 1:43 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster and new 1/43 VW Up! for the IAA, Which is not necessarily just about the 1:1 cars that debut in Frankfurt.

Premium Classixx have produced a 750 Pieces only BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept Car From Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol which will be available at the IAA in a few weeks time.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
