I actually thought that the CLA would win. The R8 V8 is not a fast car in straight line, as it is on track. I beat the R8 V8 with an A8L 4.0T quite easy in a drag race.

They were quite evenly matched but only reason R8 pulls away at higher speeds cause it is not limited to 250km/h like the CLA45 AMG.

If you watch it closely you'll see that the R8 made all its gain near its rev limit in each gear... that's the advantage of having an 8500rpm red line.
