Met up with Patrick and his friend Stefan tonight to photograph these two beauties. The Viper has an incredible engine sound (be sure to check out the videos) that just makes you sh_t your pants.

And here are some shots from earlier in the afternoon. Stefan also owns this Audi A4 Avant S-Line that was driven here by his girlfriend. Not sure if it was a TDI or a gasoline model.

Thanks for the comments. :t-cheers:

Most of these shots were taken with my Tamron 10-24mm lens which explains some of the distorted pictures (purposefully done, I should add).

Can't wait to meet up again for another photoshoot with maybe some of Stefan's other cars!

Just one thing, that I asked myself! Why doesn't the Viper have a number plate at the front and is he allowed to drive this car without one?!

Apparently he doesn't want to ruin the looks of the car with that silly license plate upfront (completely understandable). He's got one at the rear though. :D

Some cars are just ruined if they have a license plate upfront like Alfa Romeo's for example. :(

Yep - can absolutely understand that!! Just look at all Ferrari, Alfas and even BMW and Mercedes with front number plate… :eusa_doh: …would look so much better without…

What equipment did you use for this shoot Chris?

Did you use an external flash or pop-up flash, or just long-time exposure?
Any filters on the lens?
..and finally, what lens did you use ?

Nice shot there Chris, very cool setting...!! :)

Thanks. :t-cheers:

I actually only used a tripod and the Tamron 10-24mm lens and Nikkor 18-200mm lens. I also had my 18-55mm lens with me but ended up not using it. Left the 18-105mm on the D40 at home.

I didn't use flash or filters. The problem with flash and long exposure is that it still leaves "light residue" on reflective surfaces like the headlights and body paint and I didn't want that. I simply used a small aperture to get as much sharpness into the photos as possible and varying exposure times ranging from 1/20s to 25.

Some of the shots were taken at 1/50s with ISO 400-600 and without a tripod. :)
