Much ado about nothing. The Volvo's system didn't work everytime either. If there was a real world issue with these systems, especially with Mercedes it would have been exposed by now, considering how long Mercedes has been selling this type of system.

Weird. Was the cruise control on?? Distronic Plus only works when the cruise control is set.

I've never used distronic plus but from what I've heard from people who have it in their cars is that it's annoying when it lets in cars ahead of you in stop and go traffic. Which is what Betty was talking about the other day in the Audi A8.

It's just obvious that Distronic needs recalibartion, the system is not for city driving but to work with the cruise control. That said it's not nearly as sensitive as it should be. Total FAIL? No, but has to be upgraded/recalibrated. W222 could redeem this 'fail'

We need to see what the new system from Mercedes can do. The new system is used in W212 now with stereo camera and radars. It should be at least on par with Volvo. I hope it will be better since this system can apply full brake from 0-80 km/h. Volvo do 0-50 km/h.

Kudos to Volvo! I like what I see

But what about systems like that on wet or icy roads... massacre!?
