Videos Disappearing Car Door

Trying to get that door open could be a nightmare for thievs now knowing how it opens:P

I agree, the exotics with a door like that would be hot.

I really don't want to be in that car during a side collision. :eusa_thin

Yes I think the door has to be light and very thin...
But how cool it is!! :usa7uh:

It makes Lambo or SLR doors look stupidly outfashioned...

Really the doors of the future, I think we could see some kinds of doors like that in the future.

You must not open the door too often when the motor doesn't turn, or you'll empty the battery quickly...

It would probably help in other collisions though, in which in a traditional car the door could open during a crash, and the passenger ejected.

No since the doors are specially locked and never open during a crash.

With this system however, imagine: side crash, the door is deformed (it is normal)...it can't be opened any more!!! It can't be restracted if it does not have the shape it should...

Other thing: this door is very big, and there is no B-pillar...so it is not rigid enough in case of a sidecrash...

However I am sure the carmakers will find a way to solve the problems and find innovative ways to enter the car in the future.

lol, is this video really for real or is it one of those good fakes? Looks to good to be true. Btw, can someone explain to me what exactly happens to the glass windows when that door collapses and folds inwards?

Looks real to me.
Don't understand your question about the window.
It retracts into the door, and then the door itself retracts in a false floor under the car. The window retracts so that the whole door is shorter and everything passes under the car.
