M5 Did I just spot the new M5? No!

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
Wimmer could have asked someone here instead of putting that thread there, in the wrong section even..

Either way, the thread title makes the forum look bad imo, since it's clearly no M5, and it's completely obvious.

A debatable looking 5er.That might a testing car for the upcoming M5.

What's debatable about it? It's just an ordinary 5 Series M Sport with an aftermarket exhaust! Not having a go at Wimmer but I don't see why we should just hand out over the top and gratuitous "thanks" when somebody posts anything. If it had have been an M5 then great. I would say "thanks". As it's not then just move along.

As for the 6 Series cabrio. There are hundreds of spy shots of it in the appropriate forum. I don't think we need any more.

And that's all I'm saying on the matter......

Yes it is just a 5er with stupid kit but it also could be a M5 under testing.

And i'm not saying that we all must thank him or anything but at least we shouldn't diss him for it also.

Er.....that's exactly what you DID say, and the only reason I am having this discussion with you! :t-banghea

Klier u need to relax.

We all should be thanking Chris for spotting something and posting it here first before anyone else.:usa7uh:

but at least we shouldn't diss him for it also.

Of that we are agreed. :t-cheers:

^You know i didn't mean that we must thank him..that is totally up to each one here.

Really, guys? You have a go at Chris for asking if that was an M5 when there are several blogs/sites (including Horatiu) not knowing it better either?

Yes, we know that's no M5 and yes, we could settle this pretty fast. But that's nothing to argue over. It could have been an M5 test car, and that's good enough.

No, it doesn't. As SCOTT mentioned, we could settle this pretty fast while other sites/blogs which should know what they're talking about as well haven't yet.

Could have left Horatiu out of this, but sure...

We always put a question mark in the title if we're not sure and did not say confirmed, when we realized the mistake (which sometimes we do in the heat of the moment), we updated it.

My only issue was Tarek saying we should all thank Chris. As much as I am grateful for Chris posting pics of something interesting, it doesn't mean I should thank him when it's not, because this just devalues the GENUINE thanks.

I'm not chastising Chris at all.

LOL lots of debating here AHAHAHAHAHA

Nice shots Chris, I especially like the colour on that 5 series.

Fair enough.

Taken with my new Nokia C7 smartphone camera. Two BMW factory cars. New F10 5er with lots of weird gizmos and wires inside all over the interior (no pictures of this stuff sadly) and the next-generation BMW 1-Series - drove past me while I was parallel-parking...

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
