^The eDrive based on the next 7 series is obviously available with a four- and a six-cylinder engine. Will BMW offer more eDrive models in combination with a six-cylinder engine or is this combination exclusive for the 7-series?

At Motor-Talk is another interesting interview between MT-editors and the R&D chairman Klaus Fröhlich about the electric and autonomous driving future at BMW.
As we know in 2019 the full electric MINI is coming, in 2020 the X3. It's depending from the customers demand which model the next will be.
In 2121 BMW will introduce cars with a revised CLAR-platform. With this revise all ranges offers enough space under the back seats for a battery pack. So BMW could offer a full electric model at each range.
And each plant will have the ability to build this cars.
At this time BMW is using the third generation of battery but is developing the fifth generation. This one will be equipped with a 500 km range for larger cars.
