Videos Corvette C6 Z51 (not Z06) Vs. BMW M5 V10 P500

Pretty even race with the M5 with a very slight lead. Of course the Vette costs about half of the M5. Of course the M5 is a 4 door sedan with a full size trunk that I would take any day of the week over the Vette.

I wonder if he used the right settings. There is a video out on the net were a M5 meet a 911 Turbo. The M5 is using P500 in both movies but in the movie were the M5 lose, the gearing speed is set differently to the one were the M5 win.
Both movies are done with the same drivers and same cars.

If this M5 in this movie had the best settings then it means this Corvette C6 would smoke the 911 Turbo as well and I dont think its possible?

Considering the Turbo (regular original one) only has 15 more horsepower than the Corvette, I'd say the Turbo would launch quicker due to AWS, but the lighter by around 235 pounds Corvette could pull ahead a little later.

*Edit: Road & Track acceleration figures for you to think about (different test dates therefore possibly different conditions).

Porsche 911 Turbo
0-60: 4.0
0-100: 9.2
1/4 mile: 12.4 @ 115.6 mph

Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
0-60: 4.5
0-100: 9.8
1/4 mile: 12.8 @ 114.5 mph

Then for comparison the Carrera S they tested in the same conditions as the Corvette above (my brother says Porsche may have lent them a more "special" car than all the other magazines)
0-60: 3.9
0-100: 9.6
1/4 mile: 12.3 @ 114.8

Ah, sorry I didn't actually watch the movie. It's hard to say in that case it might just come down to how the two cars are geared.
