COVID-19 Coronavirus General Thread

COVID-19 news, discussion, developments, public health updates, and community conversation.
I wish for a prompt recovery, dear @martinbo boet. Sad to hear!

I'll get vaccinated this week, as in my country, the people in their 30's are now scheduled to receive it (I'm just two months shy of turning 40, in which case had I been, I'd be already vaccinated a couple of weeks ago)
Thank you my friend.
We're still waiting for the 40 to 50 age group allocation. I'm also a few months shy of 50 so would've been eligible for the vaccine sooner. Stay safe, and I hope you get that vaccine as soon as possible.

Excellent information hoffmeister.

I am aware of mRNA being differentiated from traditional gene therapies by the big pharmaceutical companies in the Media.
Both the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classify mRNA treatment as an 'advanced therapy medicinal product' (ATMP) which defines several forms of genetic-based therapeutic medicine. There are some experts who state mRNAs are a form of gene-therapy, however, I accept your correction :)

I am not against vaccinations and I am not advising anybody to not take these vaccines. But I do believe we should be fully aware of the facts around them. They have not been trialled in the usual way. How many people are even aware that the US FDA has not approved or licensed any of these vaccines? - rather, they have been authorized for emergency use by the FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). That is quite an important note - it means these drugs are still effectively in a trial period.

Rumble — FULL INTERVIEW: Dr. Peter McCullough discusses the dangers of the novel COVID vaccine and it's roll out. This is a product that had minimal testing but is being pushed on the masses. Must we all get the shot for things to "go back to normal"? Are you going to get the shot?

*Fleccas is not giving any medical advice here ;-)

Dr. Peter McCullough has been the world's most prominent and vocal advocate for early outpatient treatment of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Infection in order to prevent hospitalization and death. On May 19, 2021, he was interviewed regarding his efforts as a treating physician and researcher. From his unique vantage point, he has observed and documented a PROFOUNDLY DISTURBING POLICY RESPONSE to the pandemic -- a policy response that may prove to be the greatest malpractice and malfeasance in the history of medicine and public health.

Dr. McCullough is an internist, cardiologist, epidemiologist, and Professor of Medicine at Texas A & M College of Medicine, Dallas, TX USA. Since the outset of the pandemic, Dr. McCullough has been a leader in the medical response to the COVID-19 disaster and has published “Pathophysiological Basis and Rationale for Early Outpatient Treatment of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Infection” the first synthesis of sequenced multidrug treatment of ambulatory patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 in the American Journal of Medicine and subsequently updated in Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine. He has 40 peer-reviewed publications on the infection and has commented extensively on the medical response to the COVID-19 crisis in TheHill and on FOX NEWS Channel. On November 19, 2020, Dr. McCullough testified in the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and throughout 2021 in the Texas Senate Committee on Health and Human Services, Colorado General Assembly, and New Hampshire Senate concerning many aspects of the pandemic response.

So, people are (still) more afraid of the vaccines ... and the potential, hypothetical long-term effects of the vaccines on the human body, but not concerned & afraid how SARS-CoV-2 infection can affect human body in the long term? OMG! Stupid people!

It's like hepatitis & HPV all over again. "Oh, just some benign viruses. Who cares." But in years it has been proved there's a causation between such viral infections and some fatal illnesses (cirrhosis, cancer etc). Viruses are proven mutagenic agents! And in many cases cancerogenic. So, ... Prevent the viral infections with the vaccinations anytime you are able & offered to! Or don't get infected at all (with protective behaviour etc). Mind SARS-CoV-2 virus as an ability to install a sequences of its RNA into a human genome. That's a sign it can do a long-ter damage to teh cell. But it's still unknown what damage. Time will tell. But then it will be too late for many.

Also mind that COVID already affects many ex-patients, even those who suffered form asymptomatic or mild symptomatic infection: as post-COVID complications (brain strokes, myocardic infarctions, lung embolisms, brain lesions - leading to early dementia, long-COVID symptoms etc).

Get fully vaccinated, people! ASAP! Especially with the Delta (Plus) variant arising.

I have a different opinion of who are stupid people.

The anti vaxxers are starting to stir. Pay no attention to absolute retards in the truest sense of the word. Would be best if they just die off, natural selection and all.

good boy, good boy...

Who is the anti-vaxxer. I am completely neutral on this topic. ( am scheduled to get vaccinated on Wednesday of this week.)

It never hurts to get professional opinions from the epidemiologist about this topic though.

Don't feel insulted then.

And you as a complete layman (or I, or probably every other person here) shouldn't ask questions about these things and just accept them. This is one of the instances where it's good to be a sheep. When there's a vaccine, it's safe. Simple as that.

One should never stop asking questions. Never.

Yeah whatever. When a vaccine releases for the public, all questions have been asked. By professionals.
But you go right ahead asking questions. Preferably on Facebook when you can maybe shake something up among the crowd there.

I must say that I can comprehend the reservations voiced by young couples in the midst of the family-planning process. The possible genotypical effects of COVID19 vaccinations are yet to be thoroughly researched.

There's no need to turn this into an argument. Surely people have the right to refuse these vaccines without criticism .......don't they?

You guys sure have a lot of faith in the corporate pharmaceutical giants - but just remember, they have a vested interest in making sure everyone on the planet gets vaccinated - enormous profits are being made from this pandemic ....a few shareholders have even become billionaires because of it. I hate to be cynical but I just don't think things are quite as simple as they seem. We live in the grip of Global corporatism : I would love to know how many big pharma board members are also sitting on the boards of major Media companies. Whether these vaccines are perfectly safe and effective or not, you can't deny we have been fed a steady diet of propaganda over the past 18 months.

Vaccines save lives. It's a fact. Enough said. I rest my case now.
I never argued they don't. But the long-term risk data on these mRNA treatments is yet unknown. I'll be much more confident to receive my vaccination in a year or two. That's just my [perhaps over precautious] feeling on it.
