Comparison BMW ix3/Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ/Volvo EX60

The EX60 will appeal more than the ix3 to people that prefers comfort over sportiness. And the same to people that prefers discret elegance over “not so discret” elegance. Many will not consider the BMW just because of the badge, and vice versa. I am sure both will be very good cars, but with different target group (partially at least).

Volvo's software is an UTTER DISASTER. We leased an EX90 and it has been in the shop for 4 months. Only drove it for one month. They cannot fix it. Total mess. We had so many issue. Instrument panel went out. HUD goes out, rear seats don't fold electronically all the time. ESP permanently off for some reason, radio sporadically works. And on top of all of that do not close to the miles they advertise.

I'd take the Mercedes for comfort, iX3 for sportiness and Volvo for my mother, joking.
We have two very good European EVs, why should we give money to Chinese.

Would those problems prevent you from buying another Volvo?

Yes. Mind you this is also the 4th Volvo we have had. The previous XC90s had glitches here and there but this EX90 is a total mess. When it is bough back, I doubt we get another Volvo, at least this time around. These issues have degraded mine and my wife's confidence in the brand.

One must note that there are many "German" as well as "other European" elements involved in the manufacturing of Chinese automobiles. Designers, upper-tier managment, mechanical engineering. The Chinese have pockets deep enough to supply an abundance of cash.

Hopefully the new software, featured in the EX60 will improve on the existing one. The EX90 will receive an update for it.

I understand EX90 has received several OTA uppgrades where they have improved the software. The technically similar ES90 is not having any software problem as I hear. I would not be afraid to buy the EX60, I think Volvo has found a solution with their software. But I can understand that people with bad experience are being sceptical.
