CLK-Class (C209) CLK63 AMG Black Series!

The Mercedes-Benz C209 is the second generation CLK-Class, launched in 2002. The car was available in both hardtop coupé (C209) and in soft-top convertible (A209). Although its design and styling was derived from the E-Class, the mechanical underpinnings were based on the smaller C-Class. It was succeeded by the E-Class C207. Production: 2001–2009.

That thing between the tail pipes (diffuser??? or whatever) just doesn't look right. :eusa_doh: It doesn't flow with the design like the details in AMG cars usually do.

Re: CLK-DTM Part II!

The CLS AMG wheels and gigantic wheel arches really look good in that shot!

Either you guys had seen this, or you were just right based on the styling of the car, but yes it looks like this is going to be the CLK63 Black Series:

After doing so with the SLK 55 AMG just recently, engineers are now making the CLK 63 AMG even sportier: They are about to develop an exclusive, emphatically puristic special series, a car that sets new standards in handling dynamics – the CLK 63 AMG Black Series - and not the CLK Facelift as previously reported. With the AMG 6.2-litre V8 engine, which has been boosted to 530 bhp, the numerous lightweight components, 19-inch AMG forged wheels, AMG adjustable sports suspension and AMG high-performance composite brakes, the special CLK 63 AMG brings its sports car talents to bear even more convincingly – and cuts an impressive figure especially on racing circuits.

I told ya!!:D I really think that they have read this thread and decided to edit the article. The truth is that Germancarfans are 100% reliable these days and some of their information should be taken with a grain of salt.

Yeah I was waiting on you to rub that in!

What an awesome ride! I highly doubt the CLK-DTM will get f/i M156 though. I believe I read on edmunds.com that the CLK-DTM test bed got 580hp from a modified exahust system from the n/a M156 6.2liter V8.

I like the new body work, very cool!;)

Wonder if it will beat the old CSL time around the ring. Considering that the DTM didin't despite being way more powerful than the CSL, it will be tough.

Forward:

Sorry if the following words are too harsh, even troll-ish to fans of the CLK of regardless of brand bias.

[begining:]

I've got a mixed feeling about this Marcus.

This looks realy cool and I love it (on looks). But I think this is how the regular 63 should have been build in the first place (and at a lower price tag too).

Considering its price tag, and the fact that the new M3, M3 CSL, not to mention RS5 (maybe even RS5+) are coming, I don't see any justification in its price tag.

"even sportier", "new standards in handling dynamics", I'd like to see that.
The regular 63 got beaten on racetracks by the underpowered equipped with crapy runflat tyres 335i.

How how will this one do ?!

[end.]

P.S.
After such disapointment, I'm even scared that even this one might not be able to beat the 335i equipped with proper tyres on a racetrack.

Re: CLK-DTM Part II!

What in the world is the point of all that?

M

Honestly, this is one of the sickest looking MB's out right now. I don't know how it will perform, but I personally don't care because this car just looks awesome.

Way to expensive for what it should be. (Could also be another disapointment a la regular 63).

In your opinion. The CLK63 isn't a disapointment.
