I wondered about a thread like this a while ago. If you have seen any clever things recently, maybe you would like to post them. Just like interesting inventions and innovative ideas.

I thought this window that turns into a balcony is a really clever idea.

This curtain is great ...following the current trend for 'faceted' design. As the curtain is gathered it becomes a geometric sculptural form ...sharing a theme with contemporary architecture or even BMW's flame surfacing.

Please post more clever stuff :t-cheers:

great thread rob. :t-cheers:

OneShot is a folding stool. It's also a smart trick: no axle, no screw, no spring or visible hinge. Only by virtue of gravity, a vertical bundle of polyamide rods fluidly unfolds to become a seat. The miracle lies in the technique of Selective Laser Sintering that allows the fabrication in just one shot of the seating surface, the legs and the hidden and integral articulations. OneShot is manufactured in the folded position, which thereby enables the creation of 15 pieces simultaneously in a machine whose size would normally barely contain 2 unfolded ones.

I have a spectacle box that can open 360 degrees and yet stay together, as if it has hinges but you can't see them. It has none actually - it is held together quite intelligently by 3 pieces of cloth that give the illusion that it is pure magic. I don't have a picture though. :t-banghea

Have you guys seen this before? I can take a few pictures if you guys so desire... :usa7uh:

all very cool stuff in this thread. That chair still confuses me as to how it works but im sure its just the way the pieces are shaped. Hey James thats pretty cool, ya if you have a chance take a picture because its hard for me to visualize what that would look like.

Cool and stylish thread Rob:t-cheers:
I can't think of somthing to post now but I'll work somthing out..

:eusa_clap Right ?

Is this clever stuff you can buy - or just clever stuff ?

It looks like this:

The silver parts are the 'cloths' I'm talking about, and the box can open 360 degrees, unlike a normal box which only open to a certain limit that its hinges allow.

And I thought Heidelberg only made commercial printing machinery. :D

They do, it's a present that Heidelberg gave my dad... It's a box for a Heidelberg watch, which is basically just a standard watch with the Heidelberg name stuck onto it.

My dad didn't want any of it, so I used the box for my spectacles and gave my sis the watch. :D

Come to think of it, there might be one of those (complete with the Heidelberg logo) lying around somewhere at my parents house. :eusa_thin

Omero, Starship Magazine Holder

Omero is a curious three-legged object in aluminum and stainless steel, mirror polished. Its unusual shape makes it appear to be a sculpture, or a starship, but it is a surprising magazine holder. Newspapers and magazines fit perfectly between its rings, hanging suspended in mid-air like paper flowers.

Lux Dinnerware - March 22 2007

Lux collection consists of a complete selection of plastic glassware, cutlery, and dinnerware for entertaining or everyday use. Very durable, the collection is available in a number of colors. The most notable aspect of the design is a horn-like projection from the plates that secures bowls and cups. This allows free movement at parties or for an everyday meal in front of the TV. a black saucer combined with a long stemmed champagne is perfect for the more formal affair.
