CL- 55 AMG Kompressor C215

Thanks everyone. I just heard I can pick it up next week.

I've already tracked down a few older brochures and a accessories catalogue.

Big congrats @lukeswiss Awesome car!

Make it V12 Biturbo and together with this one, it's my 2 favorite MBs EVER! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I loved this model too. Actually missed out on an R230 SL 55 Kompressor Obsidian last year in mint condition, was on holidays and assumed no one would purchase it during winter. Silly me, they're really hard to find....

The car is in for a nano treatment, and I think the transmission mount needs replacement... some serious shaking going on at 120km/h

Otherwise it's been a real pleasure, ABC is a nice idea. Love the way the body stays flat on cornering or braking.

I hate to say, but you're going to need to set aside some money to keep her on the road. That particular CL is very pricey to run.

You're right there, especially with the hourly rate we pay here in Switzerland. Hopefully the pleasure of ownership outweighs the costs ...

My dealer is fairly experienced with ABC - so I think we'll just be changing the oil every 20,000km to keep it clean and from crapping itself.

I can't believe I own a car with a tape player.

Have you considered buying parts at a salvage yard? Just saying...

^Mercedes-Benz actually have a really good used parts catalogue in Germany, it's always worth a look but I've just heard from the dealer now, it's the motor mounts and gearbox mount...
They're not expensive parts, the rubber just fails after time when they get older, so I'll replace them with new original parts.

The good thing about Swiss cars is that they come with 10 years included servicing, which means most cars are in fairly good condition. This CL was only put into circulation at the start of 2006, so it may even have a free service to go.

Problem solved. Tires needed balancing ...

The dealer where I bought the car charged me to refinish the mags to remove scratches... but didn't bother to balance the wheels properly when refitting the tires. :banghead:

That's why it only started after I picked the car up and wasn't there during the test drives.
