I was just wandering if this trend was popular in other parts of the world? Over here in Southern Africa, they come out with interesting names for 'cult' cars. Most of the names are come up with by people living in the townships and the nicknames/slang are basically how they are generally referred to. I think they are pretty hilarious. Here a few examples:
Toyota Tazz - "Starter Pack" (upon purchase of a new cellphone, one has to purchase a starter pack which is basically a sim card which enables to you to make/recieve calls, and since the Toyota Tazz is (was) the cheapest and one of the most common cars you can buy in South Africa, hence the name starter pack)
BMW E30 - "Matchbox"
BMW E36 - "Dolphin"
BMW E46 - "G String"
BMW E39 - "Anaconda"
Do cars in your area also have nicknames? If so, please post em, up. Would love to hear some
