excuse me i should say the best car in the world..thats what many reviewers say about it..

Well said Osna: by any objective measure a Rolls Royce makes no sense. May too much money for only a little more space (that you don't need) and a quieter ride (and most people could not hear or care about the difference). But that is not the point. If it was, Seikos and Citizens would rule the world, no one would buy Versace Rosenthal dinnerware and we would all walk around in cheap suits and screw Brioni. But that is not the way of the world...

I need you to sit in on some of my marketing discussions Boz. My company is in need of a new slogan, and we've been all choked-up for the past month over it. I'm sure you'd bang one out a classic within two minutes!

BS, because it all depends on what you want. When I said it was the best in the segment, that implied better than a 7 series, so don't try to make me say things I didn't say.
But, as I said, it all depends on what you want. If you want a big luxurious cruiser with High Tech stuff, yes the S-class is Top. If you want ostantatious luxury, go for the Rolls. If you want a smaller, luxurious and nimble sportssaloon, go for the 3 series. If you want a good saloon for your money, go for a Skoda Superb. All I'm saying is that "it's the best 4 door in the world" is a silly statement.

like for example some says that M5 is ultimate performance sedan..
but that could also be BS.. cause if you want a small one RS4 is better and if you want a luxury one S65 is better..

it depends on wich glasses you look at it with.. and i have my MB glasses on all the time..hahah

Rik, you know I have respect for you and almost always agree with your opinions but this time I'm siding with The Artist ......you just can't argue with it, the S class will beat any four door vehicle you put it up against - lets be honest here, the M5 is an amazing car but the S65 would destroy it in a comparison test - tell me that's not so.

Yeah, it'll (S65) kill the M5 in terms of luxury, comfort and power, but in every other mf thing the M5 is million times better, AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED!

And you pay a $h!tload more for that power, luxury and comfort, wich M5 for me and you has more than enough!

Yeah, the S65 is a monster, masterpiece, everything, but it definitely doesn't kill the M5 in every possible way like some of you claim!

I really don't want to get in the middle of this, but the only thing the M5 would do better is go around a track....you know the handling categories, but everything else the S65 would easily do better. No car kills any competitive/same class of car in every possible way, that is a bit extreme. Then again the S65 and M5 are extreme cars. I really can't see what else besides handling type things (track times/steering etc.) the M5 would do better though.

Well that is pretty much what I've stated that the M5 would do better, the driving aspect, but the luxury, prestige, quality all go to the Benz by far, especially luxury and prestige.

Anyway it really doesn't make too much sense to debate these two otherwise we've fallen into the same trap as C&D when they compared the S600 to the Phantom, they're not of the same or mission and neither are the S65 and M5. If I had the money for a S65 surely I can afford a M5 too.

Personally i would never choose between a M5 and a S65.. S65 is too large and too luxury for me and too expensive for one vehicle.
I would also choose E63/CLS63 over S65. S65 isnt my kind of vehicle. M5 and E63 are already comfortable for my needs and even if S65 is more comfortable, it doesnt mean M5 and E63 are uncomfortable. M5 and E63 also got the looks which I dont see in S65 and they are probably more fun to drive than a S65.

So I will save money if I choose a M5 or a E63 then I will have money over to buy myself a 997S together with my M5 or E63. That is by far more attractive in my eyes than one single S65 in my garage.
