C7 Corvette Z06 beats Porsche 918 time at VIR

If you really think HvS can push a car like Marc Lieb then I don't know what to say. It's like comparing Jeremy Clarkson to the Stig.K.
There is a comparison video posted I think by @DeDe before where it shows the lap of Marc Lieb against HVS and there is a big difference, Marc Lieb pushes the car harder/faster through each corner and on the straights so that's why he is 13sec faster around the Ring.

True, but keep in mind that Lieb probably lived IN the car for months... :D

The P1 was slower than the 918 at Laguna Seca by quite some margin. If everything had gone in its favor it would have still been slower. Perhaps with some type pressure changes and a different driver it might do better. That's all there is to say.

So let's get this straight. You're saying that McLaren are lying about the the GTR being slower than the GT3. I'm afraid I can't take the proposition seriously, sorry. McLaren might lie about things but not to make their halo models look worse than they are.

Why is the GTR slower than the GT3? Probably because it is on narrower tyres (don't know why) and also because the handling is set up to suit ham fisted billionaires rather hot shot race drivers.
Slower with traffic and noise restriction LOL. 918 slower than Z06 by 2s on a clear track.

Tyres can be replaced easily.

So long he even redecorated.

please think of the difference between factory test and magazine test (6:57 vs 7:13)

this is a case of a car being given unlimited test time to improve the result with virtually unlimited support, wait until lightning lap before you start talking about how fast the Z06 is

Lol nope. Over 2 seconds slower with traffic. 0.8 seconds slower even allowing for traffic. The sound restrictions were ignored on that lap. Reread the thread. 1.31.8 was the best time it could have done hence Treynor's going to have a play around with tyre pressures.

You can't put wider tyres on a car if there isn't space for them or the chassis isn't able to tolerate them. Mclaren have put the stickiest tyre on the GTR that they think it can handle. Unless they're completely retarded and are worried about "road manners".

Nope, because when you know traffic has screwed up your lap, the focus isn't really there for the remainder of the lap. Oddly enough Ben was only 2s slower himself and that was with slowing down for the noise restriction, so the 1:33 really wasn't a good lap attempt even minus the traffic.

They may have been concerned with not providing a twitchy car for non-racing drivers. You'll note that the 996 GT2 also required geometry tweaks to work well.

Not really a valid reference. The 'ring is far more complicated than VIR and the 7:13 was set by a standard production model.

Can you cut the nonsense? You are insulting our intelligence.
Sorry but I'm really just imitating ajjers with his persistent Laguna Seca time references. At least the VIR times were both set on a clear track with no noise restrictions.
