The Bugatti Bolide is a track-only sports car developed by Bugatti Engineering GmbH in Wolfsburg, Germany and Bugatti Automobiles. Manufactured in Molsheim, by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., revealed online on October 28, 2020.

I'm not a fan of Bugatti, because they are French. And I'm not fond of the French at all. Their food sucks.

Interesting that Manny Khoshbin cancelled the McLaren Solus GT because it was too hardcore, a track only car and it only would sit in his garage as an art piece but still gets the Bolide.

With all due respect Bugatti and Mclaren aren't really "rivals".

What do you mean with that? The cars are both track only cars which Manny Khoshbin won't or barely use. Do you mean that Bugatti is a bigger brand and so if he wants 1 track only car (as an art piece) the Bolide is the better choice?

I think his choice here is pretty understandable, given how these two sit at the opposite ends of this track-only supercar segment.

Bolide offers a lot more palatable ownership experience compared to Solus GT.
No water preheat start-up procedure, no engine and transmission rebuilds to worry about. Just a reliable package wrapped in batmobile looks. And with four wheel drive, comfy 2-seater cabin and familiar W16 + PDK, it's likely very approachable to drive.
And even if it doesn't get driven... if there's one car that's guaranteed to appreciate in value, Bolide is the safe bet, IMO.

I don't know what McLaren was thinking when they came up with Solus. It's far removed from both McLaren road cars and race cars, and it offers nothing you can't get at used race car market for fraction of the cost. I think it's going to end up a forgotten project.

I can't wait to see some Bolide lap times. 1,600 PS with all the grip and traction you could ask for is unprecedented for this type of car. It won't beat any records in lateral g, but get it on a circuit with long straights and it might surprise people.
Also, I want Bugatti to explain the LDF vs HDF configurability. There's no apparent adjustment holes in the endplates of the rear wing. Does it mean there's two different aero package options?
 
Look, I wouldn't exactly say no to driving that thing around a circuit. :biggrin.doodle:

Bugatti claims that the owner of the Bolide drove it to 333km/h on this track, which is faster than the 325km/h of the F1 car and the 310km/h of the Hennessey F5.Its performance on the straight section is unparalleled.:)

Not bad for a wet track! I'd love to see where's their braking point on the main straight relative to other cars.
