Saw this on Instagram, what a great design. Not sure most people would like it because as you said no tacked on crap and cheap gimmickry that people seem to need now.

Maybe. But then again, the 2015 vintage was a good one for BMW design. Remove some of the applied trim attachments + a crease or two, and one can easily see that the fundamental design has aged like a very fine wine. Brimming with subtle bouquet and crisp. Not a warm bottled beer that has been shaken and lost all "fizz".
