With a third more power than the outgoing Brabus, the new ForTwo looks set to be quite a pocket rocket. The newcomer, unveiled at Geneva, packs a punchy 98bhp and has a sprightly 780kg to carry around, so Smart is promising warm-hatch performance for the first time in a ForTwo.

Okay, so it won't trouble the GTI brigade, but the new Brabus will crack 62mph in 9.9sec and is so fast they've had to limit it to 155. (That's kph, or 97mph, mind).

This is the Smart model we should be getting here, maybe it will come later if sales are good.

I don't think this car really deserves the brabus tuning, bit tame for them!

I'm surprised they haven't put their V12 in there!:D :t-drive:

It would be outrageous if they put a V6 in there considering how small this car is. I'm sure they've tried and/or thought about it.

What, like what they did with the smart roadster?

They could produce amazing performance in a car this small! Not sure how happy I'd feel though do 150mph in a car this small!

Yeah it might be too small for such power.

New smart fortwo BRABUS and BRABUS Xclusive

A combination of sportiness and exclusiveness: The BRABUS models of the new smart fortwo are ready to hit the road. With a reengineered 72 kW/98 bhp three cylinder turbo engine the smart fortwo BRABUS and the smart fortwo BRABUS Xclusive continue to boast low fuel consumption of just 5.2 litres per 100 kilometres, yet they have 30 percent more power than the predecessor model. CO2 emissions stand at 124 grams per kilometre. The sporty two-seater accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155 km/h. Prices in Germany range from € 16,490 to € 22,430 (ex factory) depending on the equipment line and body type.

The sporty character of the new smart fortwo BRABUS is apparent at first glance. For example, it comes with bright-finish “Monoblock VI” alloy wheels with wide tyres measuring 175/50 R 16 at the front and 225/35 R 17 at the rear, wider rear wheel arches, a sports exhaust system with centrally positioned dual tailpipes in the specially styled rear apron and a body lowered by ten millimetres. The transmission and suspension also have a sporty setup. In the interior, cockpit instruments with specially designed dials, BRABUS stainless steel sports pedals and a new BRABUS leather steering wheel with shift paddles underline the exclusiveness of this model. The panoramic roof with sun blind is a standard feature. The new smart fortwo BRABUS is available in all colours.

The smart fortwo BRABUS Xclusive lives up to its name with additional equipment details such as H7 projection headlamps with titanium coloured surrounds, a front spoiler with enlarged air inlets, striking side skirts and a special rear apron. The leather-effect instrument panel boasts aluminium-look trim components.
Both BRABUS model variants of the new smart fortwo are available as a coupé or a cabrio.

Three cylinder engine with turbo power: 72 kW/98 bhp and 140 Newton metres of torque

At the heart of the new smart fortwo BRABUS is a turbo engine with electronically controlled fuel injection that has been improved in numerous details. From capacity of one litre the three-cylinder engine now develops 72 kW/98 bhp at 5500 rpm and lends the 780 kilogram two-door car remarkable agility. The weight/power ratio is just 7.95 kg/bhp - 24 percent lower than that of the previous BRABUS version.

The turbo in-line engine develops maximum torque of 140 Newton metres at 3500 rpm. The new smart fortwo BRABUS sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 155 km/h.

With combined fuel consumption of just 5.2 litres per 100 kilometres the two-seater is one of the most economical cars in its size and power category. Carbon dioxide emissions stand at 124 grams per kilometre.

They're kinda cute if you ask me. If Smart makes it here MBUSA should allow Brabus to do all kinds of wild and exclusive versions like these. They'd look hot on U.S. roads IMO.

Brabus Ultimate 112: The Ultimate City Sports Car

The Brabus Ultimate 112 is based on Smart Fortwo and is a true city sports car. Comparing it to the Bullit the Ultimate 112 doesn’t offer too much: the engine produces 110 bhp at 5,750 rpm, the sprint from 0-100 km/h is done in 9.5 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited at 170 km/h.

All these are offered by Brabus at a price of 45,900 Euros. Pretty cheap comparing it to the 348.000 Euros for the Bullit!
  • Press release:
The exterior is custom-painted a flaming mother-of-pearl/orange color, the interior is upholstered in black BRABUS leather and Alcantara with orange seams, and it has lots of power under the hood: BRABUS presents the limited-edition special model BRABUS ULTIMATE 112 at the Frankfurt International Auto Show IAA 2007. The ULTIMATE 112 is based on the Smart Fortwo and is a true city sports car. And as such it represents a unique combination of extravagant equipment, sporty performance and agile handling.

In addition to the custom paint the BRABUS ULTIMATE 112 sets itself further apart with a muscular body kit that includes a front spoiler, rocker panels and BRABUS WIDESTAR fender flares front and back.

The large wheel houses offer ample space for a tire/wheel combination that is highly unusual for a car of this size: The glossy black BRABUS Monoblock VI double-spoke wheels are mounted on the front axle in size 7Jx18 with size 205/35 R 18 high-performance tires. In the rear 8.5Jx18 wheels with size 235/30 R 18 tires provide plenty of grip to transfer the power of the engine to the road.

Specially calibrated to these ultra-low-profile tires and the wider track is the height-adjustable BRABUS coil-over suspension that combines direct, safe and sporty handling with great ride comfort.

With these modifications the ULTIMATE 112 offers the perfect platform for the powerful BRABUS three-cylinder turbo engine. As the exclusive special model’s name reveals, the engine produces 112 PS (110 hp) / 82.4* kW at 5,750 rpm. Even more important for everyday driving is the for this vehicle class exceptional peak torque of 150 Nm (111 lb-ft), available over a wide rev range from 2,800 to 4,200 rpm.

Shifting in the BRABUS ULTIMATE 112 is done either automatically or with steering-wheel paddles just like in Formula 1 racing. The paddles are mounted to an ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel.
With sprint times from 0 – 60 km/h (0–37 mph) in 3.9 seconds and 0 – 100 km/h (0-62 mph) of 9.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 170 km/h (106 mph) the convertible also sets the performance benchmarks in its class.
This performance is accompanied acoustically by the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust and its dual tailpipes made from cast aluminum.
Exquisite highlights also abound in the interior of the ULTIMATE 112: The especially soft and breathable black BRABUS Mastik leather is stitched with orange seams.

The BRABUS interior concept includes embossed BRABUS emblems as well as instrument panel, instrument bezels, tach, speedometer, clock, turn-signal lever and door handles, all color-coordinated with the exterior. Stainless-steel foot pedals with anti-slip padding together with an aluminum shifter and emergency brake lever add touches of racing atmosphere.
A climate control system, radio and a navigation system are also part of the standard equipment of this open two-seater.

The BRABUS ULTIMATE 112 is being built in a limited-edition series of just 112 cars, each sporting a consecutively numbered placard in the interior. The BRABUS ULTIMATE 112 sells for 45,900 Euros MSRP.

Smart's New ForTwo Brabus Pocket Rocket Shows Itself in Scoop Shots

bdc948af1d4958366eee51f7584c405a.webp

We didn't have to wait long for the first appearance of a Smart ForTwo Brabusprototype, the brand's new coin..pocket rocket based on thethird generation of their two-seater city car that was presented just last week.
plain ForTwo, it should offer the choice of both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission driving the rear wheels.

A lowered sports suspension, better brakes and possibly changes to the car's steering and electronic driving systems, should round out the upgrades.

Look for the new ForTwo Brabus at next year's Geneva Motor Show.

Smart ForTwo Brabus rendering / RM Design

Already confirmed for production
The new Smart ForTwo has been envisioned in a Brabus high-performace version by RM Design.

Already confirmed for production, the ForTwo Brabus is expected to adopt a revised front grille and tinted headlights. The model will likely gain a modified rear bumper with a sporty dual exhaust system, as seen in this rendering.

As reported before, the vehicle will probably be powered by an upgraded version of the turbocharged 0.9-liter three-cylinder engine of the regular ForTwo. The Brabus variant could have an output of around 110-120 PS (81- 88 kW).

In addition to the more powerful engine, there will be also a sport-tuned suspension, beefier brakes and probably a revised steering system.

The new Smart ForTwo will be offered in several other variants too. Recently it was reported the model will be soon available as a convertible and an EV.

I'd be much more interested in a Brabus Smart ForFour. That should be a real impressive little car.

Smart ForTwo by Brabus returns in a revealing set of spy shots
To be revealed in April
The Brabus-prepared Smart ForTwo has been caught on camera once again while testing ahead of next year's launch.

Today we found out the Smart ForTwo tweaked by Brabus will be unveiled in April next year and now we take a better look at the city which is bound to get a more aggressive body. Aside from the camouflaged front and rear spoiler lips, the higher-powered ForTwo will also boast a dual exhaust arrangement, darker headlights, slightly updated front grille and beefier alloy wheels.

It will also ride lower than the regular model thanks to a stiffer suspension and is bound to pack a three-cylinder 0.9-liter turbocharged gasoline engine upgraded to approximately 120 HP (88 kW), up by 30 HP (22 kW) compared to the stock ForTwo.

The same treatment will be applied on the more practical ForFour while the unreleased ForTwo Cabrio (due in April) will also likely receive the attention of Brabus.
