X5 M / X6 M BMW X5 M (F95) Videos

The X5 M is the high-performance variant of the X5. In April 2009, the X6 M version was announced, with a 408 kW (547 hp) version of the BMW S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The BMW X5 M and X6 M are the first vehicles from BMW M GmbH to have xDrive all-wheel-drive system and automatic transmissions, and are also crossovers as opposed to passenger cars.

The showing of the X6 M50i in the last video posted by @Frankie G is unexpectedly impressive. Who had thought, that a X6 M50i was capable to beat the Cayenne Turbo?
The thing is, that BMW created a "hidden champion" with the 530hp N63TÜ3, which was introduced with the M850i and has then been rolled out as N63TÜ2 replacement in all other models. It is so capable, that it sometimes gives the real M a run for its money in sheer longitudinal dynamics.
My brother - die hard Audi fan for more than a decade some time ago - switched over to a pre LCI M550i (with the TÜ2 engine) and is now expecting delivery of the LCI M550i. After testdrive of the LCI M550i he was totally shocked about its performance.
He also stated, that the M550i is an absolute bargain in its segment: Drivetrain/powertrain wise no one in the segment can hold a candle against it ... they all come with comparably weak 6 cylinder options.

....and the M50is sounds way better than the M5/8, genuine old school V8.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
