Maybe. Not for BMW though. Nothing to worry from a rebadged Q5.

The BMW X4 Concept is now on show at the BMW Welt.

Not a single person is looking at it in that photo. LOL

Shot the very first on the road Pre Production photo's of the X4 today. Needless to say....not looking much like X4 Concept in the metal.....much more X3ish front fascia and the entire rear is still in heavy camo. Some of the door character/contour lines seem to remain from the Concept. Very sporty side profile....car had 2 side exhaust finishers....I6 powerplant if based on X3 engine protocol. Stay tuned...X4 photo's popping up everywhere. Thanks. Palbay

X4 like 4er Coupe , Active Tourer , i3 Coupe and i8 Spyder are concept cars that are 90% the production cars.
The X4 is not any different , the front of the concept remains with the joined to grille headlights and large intakes.
The Wheels of the Concept are also carried over in a production format just like the 4er Coupe.
New to the production X4 is the extra pillar in the rear door glasshouse.

The X4 will be available in both four and six cylinders to respects its market and therefore will be offered with smaller sized alloy wheels and non LED headlights. But again these will be available as options.

Well, the wheels will only have Concept desing, but not Concept size. I know it is stupid that the rims are getting too huge, but that is because the cars are always getting larger. And I think it is bad the new X5 has no new 21" rims, but only the old 21" models.

And about the LED's I guess only headlights will be LED, and not with Concept design, blinkers and brake lighter will not be LED. Does the A/C control unit also come from X3, so the old EXX cars, or is is finally the new one from FXX cars?

Agreed, more often than not it's these details that separate the ordinary from the special.

The X4 is very much like the Concept in how it differs from the X3, especially at the front and rear. BMW have disguised the car to look like an X3 at the front but you can see in high resolution pictures the three dimension outline of the kidney grille and how it is integrated into the front of the using existing sheet metal exactly like the concept.

The only real change bar the more realistic features required is an additional pillar in the rear door glasshouse.

Yes like the 4er Coupe Adaptive LED lights will be optional. As will larger diameter wheels .
This is what you will see at the end of the year.

It is not the finished model it is currently what is available out there as a render. The car will look like the Concept bar the conceptual detailing. Some of the specific lines such as the Xline will have larger wheels in this design.

It's an x3 with a hatchback. Dreadfully mundane and with none of the flair the 6er has over the 5er. What is the point of differentiating the even numbers against the odd numbers if the design is lazy and uninspiring? This is just automotive pollution.....

Its not an X3 per se. Both the front and rear differ from the X3 as will the next BMW X6. The front of the X4 Concept carries over to production to distinguish X3 from X4.

If that face mimics the X3's, BMW can keep it, not interested at all. X3 still has THE ugliest, dumb face of any BMW to date. F20's face looks 1000x times better IMO.
