X3/X4 BMW X4 is coming...

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.
I dunno, I guess it will end up looking good and all, but is it needed? BMW needs cars that are nimble, light and sporty. More then yet another X line car....

I lost the faith in expecting a brand launching a car that is really needed. But knowing that, it better be good looking.

X3 already is really good looking, so I have no doubt that a more coupe-ish version of that car is going to be even better!

An X4 would unlikely carry much of what we see in the appearance of the X3 which has a nose with a utilitarian appearance and wouldn't lend itself well to a coupe body.

It does actually. Just look at the X5 vs X6, same story.

Take an X3, change the bumpers, lights and roofline and you have an X4. It's that simple.

Also, utilitarian? Really?

Nah, that looks fresh and sharp! A coupe version of that will be hot, even though I don't particularly need one in the line-up.

Well at least they gave us the 1M....it's just that it is limited and available just for a short time....

That looks great, Beaver snout and all....but is it really going to have two doors only? That would rock btw!

The chat is that the baby Porsche SUV that will sit below the Cayenne might only be 2 door so it's possible BMW will do the same.

To respect the demands of the segment it has to be a 5dr for practicality reasons, however X4 will be the first "twins"in the BMW SAV line-up with a more practical 5dr and a sportier 3dr option.

So you're saying there's going to be two versions of the X4? A two door and a four door?

Boy, as if one wasn't enough. The four door version should simply be the X3...

Is this another one of those "exclusive renderings" showing (not) exactly what the new X4 will look like?

Another useless BMW model. Oh right, but BMW needs such a car.

I didn't know turning a 4 door X4 into a 2 door X4 was cheaper than giving the Z4 a fixed lightweight hardtop.

A chopped X3 with F20 headlights....as awkward as it is....I kinda like it!

3dr option for customer or bmw?

Sure, there are tens of thousands 5 GT sold and there'll be hundreds of thousands 3 GT sold. For the later I think it will be true, the 3 GT will be BMW's best seller. It will need an M version.

I would just say no to that render.

To reflect market segment and demand. X4 will be announced as a 5dr first. A 3dr will follow later. Porsche's Cajun will be a five dr first and then a 3dr.
Besides you know how it will work anyway especially the outline which will follow the classic coupe shape of the X6 the details you can extend from the X3. X4 is actually a no-brainer because it shares its modular architecture with the X3 allowing an existing model to be spun off and be highly profitable.

Here is another example of an X4. But like everything gone before some render artists have now caught F30itis. Some elements ring true but not the front.

So then both X3 M and X4 M might see the light with the current generation.
