Poll BMW X3M vs Mercedes Benz GLC63s

I like the new X3, but I think the X3M is not that much different looking to X40iM and doesn't seem that special or aggressive enough. When you look at the GLC 63 you know it's a more sportier special version of the GLC, it looks vastly different to other models, it looks quite mean and also it has that amazing V8, which sounds incredible and performs at a pace that is quicker than all its rivals.

I think M-Sport to M40i to M is pretty analogous to the GLC offerings. In both cases they change the bits that are easy to swap... bumpers, grilles, side skirts. I certainly wouldn't agree that they look "vastly" different in either case.

Oh wait... Mercedes' website is frustrating to use on a Desktop PC and their configurator is garbage, so I gave up. But the 43 to 63 to 63S is pretty much the same as above.

^It's not confusing, other models except GLC can be configured on Mercedes UK website. Maybe they are updating it because it was recently facelifted.
But on German website there is only GLC200, 220d and pre-FL 43 AMG.

I didn't say it was confusing, I said it was frustrating and garbage Frustrating because it's clearly designed as a tablet interface, and garbage because the execution is poor - it uses a mish-mash of imagery and the model selection is, as highlighted, inconsistent, and different options are available but aren't visualised in the configurator.

FWIW, I don't like the BMW configurator in some respects either (mostly though because BMW make some disappointing choices about what options mixes are - or aren't - available on certain models)... but for the purposes of getting simple clean consistent imagery it's far better than Mercedes'.

As an X3 owner I would respectfully disagree. I'm so thoroughly bored of the way my X3 looks inside and out. The Macan, Q5 and GLC still attract my admiring gaze.

Funny that I think the same.
In all honest the X3 throughout its 3 generations has never been a classic beauty. Even the M-Sport colour choices are unimaginate compared with the F-Pace and XC60. Yet, I have ordered an G01 because it's the best allrounder in the class.

Porsche's have always had the best car website. Within a few clicks you can find full technical specs including measurements. Other car manufacturers bury this information in hard to find PDF and even then the data is sometimes incomplete.

Just joking, I know you were thinking no one would vote against the X3M except die-hard Merc lovers! Personally, I think the X4 is just a weird looking thing from the bank end, having seen a few on the road now, mostly 20d's.

I genuinely do think the GLC is a nicer design than the X3, particularly in AMG/M form. The X3, as nice as it is, is instantly dated in the BMW line-up as it lacks the new grille and new interior design. Considering it is a newer design than the GLC, it doesn't look newer.

I do think it is a great car though and is usually the car I recommend to buyers in the class. GLC facelift may change that though.

I voted for the X3M obviously I think the PFL GLC63S looks better than both the FL GLC and X3M and I’ve said as much on the GLC thread, but the stronger looking and better built X3M over the FL

However I was not referring to this particular thread, but a general question to die hard loyalists of either brand if they ever vote for the other brand because they like it more.

I personally am going to wait for the comparison tests, and I can already tell you the X3 M is going to win them all.
