It's not just the shape I'm talking about, but individual design elements in common to both of them.

So it looks like the GLK wins with 60% over 40%
That's pretty good for the X3 actually, imo. However, I must point out that I voted for X3, but now after a day with the GLK pics on the net, I start to apreciate the lines of the GLK more and think it looks not so bad at all. It is at least much more modern looking than the Bimmer.

I think once we see the official photos with better exterior and interior shots as well as colors, we might be able to make a better decision.

I think the GLK looks better than X3, but that is not saying much...X3 is one fugly car. And what is with over designed headlights in this segment?

I have most of the post on here and i vote easliy for the glk

i think its awesome it may not be beautifull like a cl or a cls ..

but its a perfect little suv or baby suv in the merc line up..

i no many people dont like the boxish look but i find it really nice i feel its good for this litle suv

and it looks very sporty sexy and agressive...

my only concern is the front lower part in the pics it looks bit cheap ..maybe its the angle or the shot ...maybe a bit less of the black plastics would have been better ,,,but the side and rear to me look awesome

and if the interior is based on the class then i am happy to buy a glk if the fit and qualityis same as the c then iwill sell my ml and get a glk if they ever make it in right hand drive

anyone no if its definately not going to be made in right hand drive

MB GLK...but I can't say I really like either of them, so I went with what I thought was the lesser of the 2 evils.

The reason I do not really like it is because of the general shape of it, reminds me of this:

Not that this is a bad car in any way but it is not a Mercedes of today to me.

Of course it's not a Mercedes. It hasn't broken down on me. It hasn't had an electrical malady. It doesn't go into limp mode. It doesn't rattle.

Pretty much what Mercedes Benz of 15 years ago used to be...

Actually, I find the comparisons with the (ugly - I admit) Forester to be quite favourable. People that don't like them really don't "get" them. It's an experience / ownership thing...

BTW, that's my Forrie right there - just in the opposite colour!

Aha -- so now I see why you are so defensive about the looks of the GLK Martin ;) -- only, the honest truth is, the Forester is actually more convincing as a 'proper' 4x4.

The Forester may be more convincing Rob, but I'm certain that the GLK will turn more heads.

Defensive? Hell no! Honest... :)
