BMW Vision Alpina

Yeah no doubt it'll be 8er based, technically. But I think he means visually.
Whatever 8er means anyways, because it's just CLAR beneath.
I interpreted that as the platform itself, but perhaps they meant the visual difference. Can’t tell which.

I think it's just about the marketing. SkyTop and SpeedTop were clearly 8-Series based, but nowhere were they marketed as such, I think what BMWBlog is saying is that this isn't a BMW Alpina 8-series / B8 replacement --- even if that's exactly what it is under than skin.

Also, again, both of those other cars were shown as BMW Concept models, not BMW Vision models... and they were limited production on existing platforms... this is a Vision car, I still don't think this'll be much more than a styling exercise.

This image suggests something very different from the apparent "fakes" presented earlier today. And I am now all the more upbeat about the presentation of the actual vehicle.

Dare I speculate that it may not be a 2 door coupe after all ? And now something appearing really nutty: Dare I speculate that it may not feature an ICE drivetrain ? But then again, does this really matter ? The primary objective will be to showcase a new exterior/interior design approach that will be Max Missoni + team's initiation testimony.

Because it doesn't have the Mercedes star on it. :)
Faced with the imminent presentation, he seems to begin suffering from a "preliminary anxiety" which he expresses here in the form of absurd assertions, simply because of the possibility that this might lead to something great, even days before knowing for sure.

Appears to correlate with the video teaser. Soooo...seems quite "real". If so, I can toss that suspicion of mine that the car just may be something other than a 2 door coupe.

I find myself seriously liking it. Extremely elegant.
After today's fiasco, I don't believe anything anymore until I see the official photos, which is what I should do since all this is doing is spoiling the moment ;)

Nobody spends several million dollars on a BMW.

...just based on a U.S.-American colloquialism for something extremely attractive: "...looks like a million bucks". Hanging out with many U.S. Americans + a few stays during several stages of my life had me learning this stuff. Even lived there for a few years as a young lad.
