BMW Vision Alpina

Is there news for that EV SUV from RR? Sounds like a good Villa d'Este showcase....
That's still very much in the early stages, maybe for next year's edition
The Nightingale is done and gone already. They are all sold and I doubt we plebs will ever see any of it in public, until the owners start driving them around and we can see them in the car spot videos on YT.
I think a "borrowed" one should definitely be there, since the two previous BoatTail versions, which were much more expensive and exclusive, were presented at these "concorsos". Showing them there, even if only for a couple of days, is an important part of these projects, especially considering the next ones, as it seems they'll keep coming.

Looking at the picture again, I am not 100% sure if it is a 4dr coupe or a 2dr…

Nor am I.

But what interests me the very most is the general design paradigm presented by Maximillian Missoni and his team. Proportions, overhangs, surfacing and the tension provided. And of course, whether NKL elements will be sparingly or generously applied. These are aspects that could signify the design template that will be witnessed on all future upper executive and upwards BMW and ALPINA vehicles. It is that segment for which Mr. Missoni & team will be responsible.

Could be years since I last made a post on these forums but I know how much you love your "sedoupes".
This one is more of a traditional coupe and not a GC.
Think modern interpretation of both the E31 B12 and E24 B10. It's more modern BMW in terms of proportions (crossover-ish) so more E24 and less E31 in stance.

Again, what we'll see in a few days, is a Vision model.

Vision Efficient Dynamics
Vision Connected Drive
Vision Future Luxury
Vision NEXT100
Vision Dynamics
Vision iNEXT
Vision M NEXT
Vision Circular
Vision Dee
Vision Neue Klasse
Vision Neue Klasse X
Vision Driving Experience

How many of those showed what customers could buy inside and out?

The difference between a '6' and '8' model for me is that a '6' isn't supposed to be a Halo model (it's a coupe version of a 5, like the 4 is to the 3), where as an '8' should be... Z8, i8 etc. (edit: E24 M635CSi was second fiddle to the M1, not an '8' model by name, but perhaps in principle. Original E31 M8 would have been a unicorn, even in it's own time).

Aftermarket support is defined by the number of cars on the road multiplied by the wallet size of those of those owners, if there's more owners, there's more incentive to offer aftermarket stuff, if they're wealthy the aftermarket options can be more outlandish... to me this isn't anything to do with halo-status.

Again, just my two cents but Brabus Bodo and more relevantly the Bovensiepen Zagato show that with the impending doom of the EV era, bespoke models are the way to show what you can do.

G-Class is Jim Jones for Mercedes fans, it's not a realistic benchmark for anything.
I can certainly feel The curtains twitching… And the fingers arching to type a response that the knuckles crack slightly. The eerily feeling you are being watched and about to be trolled?

I don’t think that Alpina has anything to do with the Neue-Klasse visually apparently. It presents a new identity. Should hopefully retain a kidney grille I should think?

The more I watch the teaser, the more I think it’s going to be a rival to Bentley.
Perhaps BMW Alpina will become just that.
I could well see a coupé version rival of the Continental GT – a magnificent 2+2 GT with a V8 engine.
BMW Group R&D chief Joachim Post said the brand “will talk not about sport but speed, comfort and luxury” for me that Bentley.

Agreed. I also don’t see any type of grille outline from that teaser, perhaps like mentioned before, they will have a different design language from BMW.

Entering the market with a coupe would be madness. Even Bentley has low sales figures. They'll sell their current models with the Alpina badge. Don't take risks.

This is still a "Vision" concept, presumably to gauge whether potential customers are in favour of it or not.

This concept will be wildly popular to the point BMW decides to build it, just like how it all went down with the Z07 Concept at the Tokyo Auto Show in 1997.

Calling it now.

Also funny how this is Mercedes territory (big fast luxury barges), yet they refuse to take part in anything luxurious and keep hammering on AMG stuff. Utter nonsense, Mercedes is a luxury brand yet AMG is all they want to invest in. Maybach doesn't get even half of the attention it deserves.

2 door coupes are often considered the most suitable basis for presenting new exterior design paradigms. The "Supreme Instance" based on their architectural proportions, so to speak. Of course, this does not necessarly mean that a 2 door coupe concept vehicle will actually see some degree of serial production as a 2 door coupe. A transformation into a 4 door GT or a shooting brake could be quite possible.

The '26 almost seems to have a hatchback compared to the traditional cars above it. Could be the angle though....

The VFL still is remarkable huh? What a design....

If it’s a sign of how bespoke Alpina want to be seen as? Then as a limited production, high cost completely bespoke model it will find its audience and customer. Its purpose as a concept is to demonstrate the full potential of the brand and not just offer a more luxurious finish and increase power on a 3er any longer.

Yes, the brand has proven that several times.
Its purpose as a concept is to demonstrate the full potential of the brand
Besides being the right move to launch a brand that you give the importance it deserves and establish that from now on it will be a BRAND, different from what it has been until now.

Woh. Hope they don’t come up with a weird thing with no BMw design cues…
