The Preview for the BMWi brand commencied within hall 11 - BMW's new home at the Frankfurt Messe for the bi-annual IAA since 2009.

Whereas BMWi takes centre stage , there will of course be other news in terms of product and model updates - over seventy cars will be on show within Hall 11 again comprising of both MINI and Rolls-Royce who will announce their IAA news in between now and September.
Official news on all BMW Group debuts will be released soon.

Again the company that designed the BMW Hall with it's highly original 2009 indoor track reconfigurate the hall to incorporate BMWi .
Whilst BMW's popularity have spurned Audi and Mercedes-Benz to imitate the BMW stand and incorporate an indoor track to showcase their new products.

Whilst the Hall is all but complete , It is currently being used for events for European dealer previews , especially for the 1er with it's own designated area.

Benny from Bimmertoday.de took some photos at the BMWi Preview on the 29/07/11.

So, what are the world premieres (beside new engines in various existing models)?

BMW 1er 5dr F20
BMW i3 Concept & i8 Concept
RR Ghost EWB
MINI Coupe

What else?

BMW 5er ActiveHybrid ?
BMW 3-series GT Concept ?
BMW 1-series Compactive Tourer Concept ?
RR Ghost Hybrid Concept ?
MINI "Spaceman" (mini-van) Concept ?
(I guess it's a bit too early for 7er LCI & 6er GC, and even more for F30 3er Sedan)

What is this Indoor track bs? ive been to IAA several times..i didnt see any indoor track?

Or are they talking about the way they display the cars.. in a circleish fashion..that looks like a track?

For 2009 and 2011. BMW introduced a new show concept with an indoortrack, so that the new premieres would be seen on the move.
They would do their lap then come onto the central turntable whereas the presenter would talk about them for the audience.

Audi and Mercedes-Benz have now done the same for 2011.

I really hope so too. It sounds rather yawn worthy right now to be honest.

Perhaps I should have put this here:

Can't you simply put Performance parts on the 1M as it is right now? Like you can put things like the Performance seats in the M3 too?

^Doesn't it always sound yawn worthy when BMW hit the big shows?

Interesting enough to follow what they do. For Mercedes Benz, I don't even follow it. Never have done so, and never will. Mercedes is not interesting enough to me.
Guess it's the same with you only opposite. Well not even the same, because you seem to at least follow BMW too, while I don't give a flying crap about Mercedes :D

Yeah man Geneva sucked arse for BMW.. i was there to witness it..their pathetic concept car.. which no one seemed to care about..

PS
Klier i agree with you.. its the same for me.. but i have to give a crap about bmw.. its like a extremely ugly annoying person..you cant just ignore it..
:D

The Connected Drive Concept was very well received, actually It is expected to be on show at the IAA along with the 328 Hommage.
If anything the worst for product had to be Mercedes-Benz - C-Klasse coupe and the design mess that passes for the SLK.
Which is why Geneva 2012 is all about the A-Klasse , the 3er and the Audi A3...
