Given the altitude, the F10 M5 would be the perfect car for a BMW enthusiast to own in Joburg (until the F8x M3/4 arrive).

Yup, there were a few M5s and M6s as well but they're not in these pics. I'll post more pics as they come.

You have a good eye. Yes, in SA people have a very soft spot for the 3 series in general, partially because most of them are built in South Africa. You'll also notice that there's a great deal of appreciation for older BMW's as well (especially the E30s) which is something that I always find fascinating. Usually, only the older crowds love the older generation cars and most of the youth only drool over the newer ones, but in SA most of the kids I see at these events respect the E30 with possibly just as much appreciation as the current M cars, if not more.

Martin tends to spend more of his time at Subaru gatherings contrasting the differences between symmetrical AWD vs Haldex.
