Doesn't Kléber make a special self-healing tyre? Called the Protective or something like that.
Based on the technology used by the german army in their fuel-tanks in WWII, I think.

This is a normal tyre, when it is punctured the air goes outside, so does a special liquid that close the puncture.
Quite the same thing than the quick tyre-repair kit you get when you have no spare tyre...

No reinforced havy structure. Only useful in case of not too big puncture though...

I also heard that there were a lot of troubles with runflat, because they are so rigid it is heavily difficult to put them on the wheel, and the tyre is very often damages during the process, and then get flat after a while...

I personally have normal tyres on my Golf, plus a spare tyre, plus a quick repair kit. Never get a puncture yet, fortunately.

There's really nothing as refreshing as a good BMW-bashing thread. :D

BTW, I never liked those RFTs.

I have nothing against RFT, and actually do admire BMW for championing the implementation, however I think we should have a spare and room for a spare regardless of whether that vehicle is equiped with RFT.
What clients(consumers) hate the most is to be forced into a corner.
